Great video I never know whether to put the tip end at the top or the bottom button do it like you.but one thing I have started to do is wrap me hook and leader on a pole winder to stop it getting tangled

Currently using another brand, but will be getting some from "Land of the Feeder" soon. One problem with these rod bands is you end up with a load of empty rod bags / sleeves. I just tie them onto a coat hanger and suspend it from the garage ceiling, out of the way.

Great vid Jamie looks a great rod sleeve looking forward to the three piece one but what was the yellow elastic at the butt end of the rod for Cheers
@CatchFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Alan, that's what I use to distinguish between rods when they are on the roost as often I use identical set-ups but for fishing at different ranges :)

Great idea as long as the tip section is the same or shorter length than the butt section otherwise there is pressure on the thinnest part of the rod

Where do I get those tip/butt protectors from ???

They are sold in tackle shops that stock Matrix mate 👍
@davidbowman9689 Жыл бұрын
Jamie could you please clarify what you do with any slack line running out at the tip end. Thanks
@CatchFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
There's only minimal but once the 2 rod pieces are together you can just turn your spool to take up any excess and then the rig goes inside the tip protecter sleeve. Does that make sense mate?
@davidbowman9689 Жыл бұрын
Sounds good to thanks

Thats fine, but a lot of tip rods are of unequal length sections, so the quivertip protrudes beyound the but section. Hence you get a bent tip, ideas please
@CatchFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry Mike I didn't realise that but I've been asked to produce another video about 3 piece rods so I'll add that into that video for you :)
@stevemccrory9130 Жыл бұрын
Just remove the tip and fold it back against the rod (with it pointing towards the butt section) before you fit the tip sleeve. The X-stretch rod bands can be adjusted to fit rod as required.....just at the "in-between" length. I also find it useful to stretch the band over the reel handle too, with a loop. thus adding a little extra security if I forget to flick on the anti-reverse / do up the drag.

What about 3 piece rods
@CatchFishingChannel Жыл бұрын
All the questions I've had were about 2 piece rods so I'll put another video together for 3 piece rods for you 👍
@richardburns5925 Жыл бұрын
They come out in a tangle, every time, like your Christmas tree lights! Ready rod bags and leaving your rods set up were introduced 20 year's ago to cater for shorter 11 and 12 foot commercial rods. If I left my 13ft, 14ft or 15fts set up all the time, it would be a nightmare and I would have to tackle up again anyway. It doesn't take long to put a rod together, reel on, run line through, thread a stick on, hook length on, shots on, maggot on.......

Tackle Tart ? Why would you want so many Quiver tips I have only ever carried 2 , 1 light & 1 heavy And fished matches for years with no problems. There are too many Sycophants on here.
