The product is also very handy for treating foot problems because it’s slightly acidic. The elephant sanctuary in Hohenwald Tennessee used it at one stage for the elephants who had bad feet as a result of living on concrete. I’m not sure if they still do, but certainly they seem to have success using it. Also, those people have got Apple trees on their land both wild and domestic could potentially make their own by gathering for the apples and crushing them through a press or look at having community presses. At the very least, those people have apple trees in my land, could give it a go, making their own. Let’s face it, if you’re not dealing with a shitload of chemicals into your cow system, that’s got to be a good thing . Plus also a cow is a forest animal.

Been feeding apple cider vinegar for over 20 years. Looks after swelling and edema . Loved it on the cows feet as the swelling is reduced significantly if fungus is infecting the herd . Fungus likes to hide in swollen tissues. So when it is exposed it is easier to treat and more effective.

I've been feeding 5 gallon buckets of molasses on hay liquid they love it got 5 gallon buckets to the roof pretty interesting u can always learn something new nomatter how old you are other wise your not paying attention God bless and be safe from Miami County Ohio 👍🙏

I use a plastic tub inside a tire. This keeps cows from tipping it over. ACV will corrode metal tubs. Also, due to the high iron content in Redmond salt, it's better to use Kansan Grey Salt. Redmond salt is good, you just don't want to force-feed it in an ACV mix.

What is the ACV replacing in your management program? Have you been able to eliminate anything to offset the cost?

I am saving enough hay to offset the cost. I am eliminating Ivermectin as it kills dung beetles. ACV should control worms and adversely affect lice. Also, I will eliminate pasture most harrowing because the manure will break down without machine use.

The ACV and salt mix will rust out that mineral lick tub in short order.

Are you still planning on deworming in addition to feeding this? You mentioned one of the reasons was to obtain natural parasite control. Also, you mentioned improving fertility. Do you think it's cost effective to feed this rather than cull for fertility genetically? Curious on your thoughts as a successful cattle producer.

I will not use wormer this year. After the winter on ACV, cows look great and not showing signs of parasites. We also dusted them on the back with Diatomaceous Earth in case there were any lice.
