This is a very informative video and I enjoyed the clear explanations of how the problem of uneven food distribution could be solved (ie by addressing the wider problem of poverty). However, it does seem to stereotype Africa as a place where hungry people exist and America as a place where everyone is rich and well fed. Poverty exists all over the world as well as in many African countries - look at India, Nepal, Haiti, Romania, Syria and Afghanistan for example... as well as in America itself of course.

I guess it's to do with the overall economic status. The USA is considered a high-income country, while many African countries are considered low-income, low GDP per capita and things like that. Yes, poverty exists everywhere, but it's more prevalent in certain areas, and it's important to recognise in what areas help is needed the most, at all scales.

this is so good because all i have seen in my life is economic disparity and scarcity - the food industry has become so corrupt anyway so its not healthy anyways, pesticides, insecticides, the list goes on. In terms of meat you then are looking at sodium nitrate, monocide gas, so what is the world coming to? Distribution is unfair and to think why are people dying and starving? because the monetary system has allowed this to happen on a global scale

Yes I agree that local food systems need to be supported in every country though we need to balance this need with the biological facts of carrying capacity. Human populations can not continually grow if we expect to keep our earthly life support systems functional. I believe we need to pay indigenous folks to rebuild ecosystems that have supported their populations historically with carbon credit inputs from wealthy nations. In addition all human populations need to have access to family planning tools so families can decide the number of children they wish to have. Thank you for your critical information. Be well.
