Amazing how fast they strike. Best patterns ever. Very cool snakes. Do you have any adult fangs?
@reptilegarden Жыл бұрын
Yeah I have a little jar I keep fangs in. Starting to use some in resin.

I just got a baby tessera corn snake. The reptile store I got it from told me I could just feed it in its enclosure. I’ve done plenty of research and was told that it would be a bad habit as to it would strike my hands anytime I’d reach into it mistaking it for prey. Would you recommend feeding in a separate tank?

We feed everything in their cages and tap train when cleaning or interacting. So you just alert to snake to your presence with a hookstick, etc. Taking a snake out the cage it can also then associate that with food, which can be worse. Then some snakes will do just fine being moved and eating in a certain container, etc. Then some you have to try move back and they want to eat everything, being harder to get out of feeding mode. This can be dangerous with large. Costrictors like retics. I keep over 80 species and feed everything in the cage.

How many have you been able to produce all together since the 1st?
@reptilegarden Жыл бұрын
Around 13 albinos and a few hets. The load shedding (power cuts) we having caused many embryos to die. I have many fertile slugs and some still born. Hopefully, I have better luck the next time around as I have backup power now.

How do you have so many albino gaboons 🤣

Haha. I had the world's first and currently the only adult breeding project in the world. I didn't have to buy them. Manifestation works 🤣
