MOM is too adorable! I wish we could’ve seen her catch a big fish and do a happy dance. My husband and I travel from LA to Carmel and Monterey often, we have visited some of these places and I couldn’t agree more with the first sushi spot. So disappointing! If you’re there and you have a special occasion type late lunch / dinner fifth and Dolores is one of our favorite spots. And we never go to Monterey and skip an Ike‘s sandwich 😍 I will be adding some of these to my list of places to try.

The breakfast club in Del Rey Oaks is my family’s Go 2! Alottt of my family members have worked there over the years and we always have our big family meet ups whenever we’re in town. The food and atmosphere just reminds me of my family and is near and dear to my heart. I also used to go to school in Salinas so First Awakenings was another go 2!

If you like Mediterranean food Paprika Café is the best in the area.. the pistachio baklava is incredible and the owner of the place is super nice! I do suggest that you take the food to-go though as the outside patio is a little cramped.

Just fyi you can’t go all the way through Big Sur bc there was a landslide a few years ago! So you have to take 101 which is just boring country roads basically! But u can still get halfway through

For great ambience try mission ranch, out on the patio so you see the sheep. Great breakfast/brunch and good dinners w the best garlic bread. Also go hear the bagpipes played on the golf course as the sun sets at Spanish Bay. Very pricey but well worth it.

I can’t believe you’re asking us to pick ONE favorite since everything looked so delicious!! For sweet: almond croissant and that lilikoi pie. For savory: the nigiri and sashimi from akaoni (you guys made that look like heaven in your mouth) and mom’s food hack eggs Benedict. But since you’re only asking for ONE, Akaoni!!! Specially the uni nigiri! @MissNellNieto I recently found your channel about a week ago and I wish I found you sooner! I love your relationship with your mom, how we get two different reviews, your food places are places I can travel to (Bay Area native), food preferences are similar to mine(except I LOVE ginger and you don’t lol), and you just have quality and informational videos. Since you’re in the area, you might want to try Alfonso’s‘s Mexican food in Castroville and down the road from them is Lemongrass Thai food in Moss Landing. Neither of these places should be missed! Enjoy your visit to the beautiful Monterey Peninsula.

Going to the Monterey Bay to have lunch or eat a meal is such a fun experience! There are so many great places to eat, or even to just walk around and talk. Especially at the Wharf or on Cannery Row! Love it! Great video too....your mom is adorable lol
