I'm looking for a job position abroad, and I have fear to speak English in an interview with professors in faculty, but with seeing this useful video and another one I feel I can do it. You give me confidence to follow training English speaking and apply for any position which I like. I hope to inform you here that finally I have secured a postdoc position in near future.

I really appreciate the convincing way of yours to bring round listeners to the point of encouraging them spare some time everyday and to start practising of speaking English. A newborn child never learns the grammer but during the course its upbringing automatically starts its mother tongue. Same is the case with any other language. To learn a new language we have to keep away the lethargical attitude. Am I right ? 😊🙏

Dear Anne Marie, awesome video, anyway, to get stuck in a meeting is kind of embarrassing, some time ago I had a really shameful situation I could not explain something about a mechanical breakdown in a machinery complex due to technical terms, what I did was told them "I will send you a brief note about the issue because I need to put in order all the ideas". I barely got out of the predicament, but very badly with an answer that showed my English limitations. Thank you for posting these videos, they are very helpful.
@Speakconfidentenglish Жыл бұрын
Oh my. That sounds frustrating. What you did say bought you time to gather your thoughts so that you could communicate clearly through a note, and that is fantastic. Be kind to yourself. You will have more opportunities in the future. 😀

Hey Anne Marie, I've been listening to your lessons and learned a lot in the last two years. Thank you. My point is I feel so embarrassed, especially at work, because sometimes I know what I want to say, but when I am going to say it, it seems like I get nervous and anxious and nothing happens as planned in my mind. My accent is pretty strong. I'm Brazilian. I've looked for a lesson that helps me organize my thoughts when I need to speak and also how to minimize my accent, so in that way, I believe it would be easier for people to understand me. Thanks for all you do for us. That means a lot!❤

Thank you for your comment, Anna, and for sharing some of the challenges you're facing in English. It's awfully frustrating to have everything clear in your mind and then to forget it while speaking. I totally understand that. To your question, speaking with clarity and improving pronunciation are different skill sets. Both require practice with specific strategies to make improvements. That said, both do require speaking practice with the opportunity to speak, listen, evaluate, and refine. On my website I provide an in-depth free training that provides a step-by-step process to do this. It's call my How to Say What You Want training. With consistent use, it's a technique that is efficient and effective in making progress for clarity, fluency, and confidence. If you haven't reviewed it, I definitely recommend it. www.speakconfidentenglish.com/say-what-you-want

Hi Anne, The best part of all your sessions are you connect it with Native speakers (how they communicate & how they improvise/escape! lol) It gives a sense of relaxation to non-natives that yes, anglophones also does that so often, so why can't I??!! All d best.

Thank you Annemarie, it's really helpful. By the way, I had a job interview with 4 interviewers yesterday. I thought I had well-prepared but I was still stuck several times while answering the questions or sharing my thoughts. I tried to use the strategies to make me get more time to think, but you know the moment was quite tense so that I still failed to get the right word to say. I felt so embarrassing and frustrated. Even so, I'll keep trying to get more and more practice.
