When you learn new language, you really become a part of their community. You start watching videos, read books, news in new language. Probably, now you can't talk with anyone, but in future, when you improve your language skills, you start do that too. I'm from Armenia and in my country not enough content in my native language. Even russian content become too boring for me. Due to that, i started learning english and it open for me new world with a lot of interesting content. Get luck :)

Another advantage of rephrasing is, that you show to your communication partner that you have been listening and are actively trying to understand what they are saying.
@scifino13 ай бұрын
Yes, that is generally true, but it's worth pointing out that there is a way to rephrase things maliciously. This is a way to get someone you're arguing with to effectively say things that they did not intend to say. Sometimes, particularly, if you and the other person have slightly different mental models of what you're talking about, a genuine attempt to rephrase things in order to gain better understanding might be misinterpreted as an attempt to point out flaws in their argument, which may make them angry. So you need to be careful to not make it sound like that.

Hah! I did that pretending I understood something today. But hear me out. I was driving our Ukrainian teenager from school to his new home today. He was saying something, but still speaks quite quietly, and I just didn't catch what he was saying. I pretended I didn't hear properly so he repeated himself - and I still didn't understand what he was saying. But ... obviously English isn't his first language (although he's pretty good at it now), but he's only really started talking to us in the past 6 months or so, and I valued his spontaneous communication more than possibly making him feel embarrassed by correcting him / asking him to repeat himself again. And I was driving, so needed to concentrate on that. So yes, I pretended I understood what he was saying on this occasion in order to keep the conversation lines open.

Best english teacher out here. I follow many eng teachers on social medias (mainly KZbin & Instagram), but noone of them are as good as you are. Your perfect pronunciation, listenable and slow/fast enough to be understood in each sentence, spread out the intention of your to let the viewer feel comfortable and enjoy the time he's spending watching the video. It's also clear how your main achievement is to teach something to people, without care about money (and trust me when I say that a lot of online teachers have completely changed from genuine to marketing bla bla bla sellers). Keep it up 😁

I am very glad that I found this channel because it helps me a lot. I have been trying to learn English for about 1 year, from books and with the help of the KZbin channel. You can learn grammar from books, words with diligence. DE: if you have to understand something after hearing it, it's already very difficult for me. On this channel I can see the text and hear (for me at a normal speed) the text. I'm ashamed, but I'm like a small elephant: I learn with difficulty, I forget quickly. Indeed, the secret lies in dealing with the English language every day. Thank you and greetings from Budapest.
