I feel like that about my big sister too. She was always mom and not a sister or a friend. Our age difference is 17yrs so I completely understand from the big sister point of view this time. They're so busy being strict with us so we will respect their authority. And yes they do mean things that maybe a mom wouldn't do but that's the teenage part of them that even they're still learning.

It’s not because we want our authority respected. It’s because we are overprotective and being so young raising someone else child its hard to navigate certain thoughts feelings and emotions.
