Feeling BURNT OUT - The Hard Realities of this Lifestyle

I feel you, my mother in law bought us a gypsy caravan and we drove halfway across Australia to pick it up and when we got it home started to realise it didn't have any of the features listed in the sale ad and everything else was broken. I worked on it for several months renovating and replacing everything and became so depressed about it I almost gave up. I took a long break just over a year and now I have renewed energy and enthusiasm to finish my build.

I have had some bad luck recently and for a while, I just wanted to run away, go someplace warm, start over. But things turned around and Im not running away. Sometimes life just pushes too hard. Im feeling good now, strong. On my way to returning to normal living. I fell in my house, dog water bowl spilled. Broke my femur, had surgery, had to be in hospital 8 weeks, in the meantime, my little shi tzu. 15:years old, died while I was in hospital. Too many things at once. Now I miss my baby, but Im walking and feeling great. Im back in my home, happy to be in my home again. Dont give up. When you finish this reno, then decide if you wantvto get rid of the RV. I have faith in your decisions. You are an adventurer!❤

Hi,word of advice from a mechanic. If a seller says, no heat or a/c be warned. No A/C is not a engine issue,will run just fine without A/C. No heat could become a engine issue. Your engine produces the heat from coolant temp,your radiator, heater core,fan motor and controls. Could be a simple to extreme costly repair.

I think you've been very positive about this entire situation. Everyone takes pause from time to time when coming up against such a situation as this. So forget the people telling you otherwise! I'll be hoping and praying that the engine and transmission are good!! That would definitely be the line to be drawn. Please don't give up. I have gotten so much inspiration from you from this series of yours. I have tried to renovate a few RVs in my life and failed miserably. However I didn't give up and started a new camper and your videos have given me so much self confidence. Great video Jaylena!! I enjoy watching your repairs and craftsmanship without all the blabber and then you explain the work you have done or you explain the problem/s you encountered. All of us encounter "problems" in a build (and in life). In theory, we wouldnt continue to learn unless we were challenged to resolve problems. Cant imagine an a/c repair costing $5000.! Dag, at that price, id replace it myself!! Hope its just low on freon or a hose replacement!

I’m with you lady. I just bought a 1996 Chevy van. It’s a little mini c. Had it inspected twice drove it back from Denver to California. As soon as I got it home I started having engine issues. It’s under 100K and it’s looking like the transmission. Which is pricy and hard to find someone who wants to work on it. So I get it. Chin up you enjoy your rig once you are on the road.
