I never thought of this before this video, but what if the police don't like that he is there, or he gets pulled over: there are many stories here on YT of having vehicles confiscated/towed... it is bad enough if it is your car, but in his case, it is his home. And I don't think the "if you don't want trouble from the police, don't break the law" is a valid argument in 2024... Also, the police seem to be more willing/able to find excuses to search vehicles much more easily than homes. However, depending on the state, it might be a risk no matter if you live in something like this or a house. (not trying to start a fight: just curious what others think...)

I can tell you, I've watched thousands of these build videos, from manufacturers to diy, and diy turned professional. I also regularly complain about the high-cost and cookie-cutter design of builds. I've seen people living in Teslas, a student who managed a BATH (beautifully done) in a car the size of a Subaru, studied Sam Shapiro's vision for the modular approach to conversion, etc. I'm sure you understand the point. This build solves every pet peeve I have. I thought I might have caught him on a safety issue, as the box cannot access the cab, which is a serious fire hazard in the back. But his shower hatch window offers escape :) Just a gorgeous and brilliant design, altogether. The electric system is pristine. Those windows! This build is a huge "Wow!" Please come back and let us know what your students think :)

It’s only for warm climes. Other than that it’s brilliant. It’s loaded with great features that I have not seen anywhere else like the underfloor storage. Why didn’t I think of that??

I have a feeling you are an engineer or similar by trade. The ability to plan so well before building is impressive! did you use software that let you model it to get an idea? Did you make changes after starting certain things? because if it nailed it on the first go, thats even more amazing.@@scotttwapple

That is absolute brilliance. The only thing I would change is that little "window" AC unit. A mini-split AC would be much better. Then again, I live in Florida where it would be very important. Maybe he doesn't even use it that much where he lives.
@scotttwapple2 ай бұрын
I would like to install a couple at my house so I don't have to run my central unit all the time. I don't need to cool my hole house. At night, just the master bedroom. Truth is, 5 years ago the selection of small mini splits was not like it is today. The only place I can put the outside compressor on my RV is on the back porch. I use that area for bike and chair storage. There are many advantages of a 5,000 BTU window unit. One 450 watt unit ( ducted vertical and in the center) in my well insulated RV cools it down 20 degrees for only an average of 450 watts. It is very reliable, simple, takes up no outside space, very little inside space, and if it breaks down on the road I can pop into any Walmart (or amazon) and pick one up immediately for $140. And install it in less than one hour. My 2nd Unit has only been used a few times when I wanted to cool down real fast. And it is my own spare AC. Since it is on the floor, blows air sideways and is at one end of the RV it does not work well by itself. If I built another truck today, I would probably stick with the same simple (analog knobs) bullet proof 5,000 BTU $140 Medea window unit. AC for $140 is hard to beat. 5 years and still working perfect. California is a lot milder that Florida.
