an act of service ive seen my dad does that i will NEVER forget, it just made me realize my standards are high for a good reason but basically: we were on a golf cart cruising around my cottage area, it was a hot sunny day in the summer. My dad is driving, my mom in the passenger seat. my mom asks my dad to stop bc we were dropping off something to a friends cottage and while she leaves to go drop the package off my dad scoots over and sits in her seat, when she gets back he goes back to his. I asked him why and he said because the sun was shining and was gonna make her seat hot, i sat on it so it stays cool for when she gets back. LIKE WHAT, that was the sweetest and most thoughtful thing ive ever seen. will never settle for less.

an act of service i’ll never forget: before i studied abroad in italy, i was telling one of my best friends how i was really nervous to be by myself in another country and i had no idea what i was going to do and how i can make my trip worthwhile, and she created an entire document of all the places in italy i can go to. she researched things like specific restaurants, beaches, and activities for each major city and sent it to me only a few days after me telling her about my anxiety surrounding studying abroad

an act of service that happened to me a couple months ago was when I was with my best friend and I got super nauseous on my birthday during a car ride to an airplane tour and i forgot my nausea medication… one week later i go into my best friend’s car and she goes into her middle console and casually pulls out nausea medication for me to take preventatively- turns out the day after my birthday, she bought nausea meds and kept it in HER car in case I ever needed it again (‘: when I tell you I felt so seen. That quote “everything I know about love, I’ve learned through my long-term friendships with women” always rings true.

on acts of service: so for me personally, acts of service is not my favourite way to RECEIVE love but it is my favourite way to SHOW love. for example, when my best friend used to work overnight shifts i would set an alarm at 6am every day (when her shift ended) and i would walk to her work with tea and croissants so she could have breakfast every day and wouldn't have to walk home alone. every time i've lived with a roommate i would take extra time to wash their dishes as well as mine, so they wouldn't have to worry about it. now that it's cold outside i always bring extra gloves or scarves with me so when i'm out with my friends i can keep them from getting cold. :) i think love is just paying attention and the best way to be a good family member or friend or partner is showing them that when they're around you they will always be taken care of.

Girl when I tell you, your vlogmas is actually so deep to me, like it sounds sooo stupid to anyone else but to me, getting to watch your videos every single day is such a priveledge!! I remember back at the start of 2021 when I was a silly little 14 year old, I didn't want to get up in the morning but knowing I had saved a Steph Bohrer video to watch as I ate my breakfast got me out of bed. I swear it has been such an insane journey and I feel like I have grown up with you. Sorry, rant over but I am genuinely so grateful to have you Steph, thank you 💋

5:15 i love these!! i have a running list on my phone called “the intimacy of” and then i make notes of things that are just so uniquely intimate in nonconventional ways. here are a few: - two strangers walking in the rain, awkwardly smiling at the shared inconvenience, looking up from the ground ever so briefly to catch the sight of someone who too forgot their umbrella - relishing in the soggy, silly synchronicity - holding someones hand as they face a new experience, showing them a new joy in life behind a (now previously) closely held belief - the silence between people in a subway car all headed to different places but all together for a minute or so hope you all love these, love you steph 💌

Thinking about acts of service and realizing my college roommates always did so many small things for me. One time I was talking to one of them and hair ties came up and I was like “oh I need some.” The next day she comes home from target and gives me a pack of BLONDE hair ties that she bought bc I said I needed some😭 it’s so small but I always think about it because it’s just so considerate. And my other roommate would always fold my laundry if it was in the dryer and she needed it, and she literally could have just thrown it on my bed but she didn’t. We would always make tea at night and just make it for each other without asking. It’s things like that that make me so grateful for female friendships

The painting of your doggie got me crying too! That's so thoughtful. Like BUYING a gift can be so easily esp with the filler sections the way they are, but to sit back and think that you want to paint someones dog and then get the correct colours and canvas and all that stuff then the likely HOURS of sitting down and not only painting A dog but painting YOUR dog with the soulful eyes etc that match your actual pet is so much work!!! I had an old friend who drew my old shepherd for me in pencil and it is still one of the nicest things I've ever received. He drew so many different things for me that were absolutely beautiful but those things weren't capturing the essence of my dog like that drawing did... You have some very awesome subscribers who thought about you. It's so nice to see that you aren't just tearing into things and treating it like a mail haul but you really take the time to enjoy and be grateful

steph you are love personified, you deserve all the support and love from your viewers. i hope i can return the comfort and joy youve reflected upon my life someday!!! i have some acts of service moments that stuck with me so ill yap a bit. a few years ago during exam season, i would get nauseous and couldnt eat fully so my sister would cut up bell peppers and hummus for me without asking as it was my safe food. also, my bestfriends always hold my hand immediately as we enter big crowds because they know it makes me anxious. and my cousins always get me gifts specifically curated to my current fixations or interests without asking me directly

the girl who is now my best friend is an acts of service person & so many of the things she’s done have made me feel valued in ways i have never felt before. things as simple as making playlists of songs that remind her of me or (my personal favorite) a pinterest board that i feel like perfectly represents how i see myself. she constantly takes care of me in ways i would never think to ask, and it’s first time i’ve ever considered that maybe my receiving love language is indeed acts of service.

an act of service I’ll NEVER forget is when my long distance best friend from summer camp (we live across the country from each other) had been separated for months and talked and called everyday then on a random Tuesday the day before my birthday I came back from a horrible day at school only to find around 5 packages of fully wrapped gifts and a card on my bed, only to look and find that on the card cover there were the lyrics of our fav song, ribs by Lorde. Immediately started bawling, she sent the packages by somehow finding my sisters number and scheming with her to get it right on my bed the day before my birthday.

act of service i’ll always remember: i was one of the older kids at summer camp but it was also my first time away from my family for more than a week. I was trying to control all of the younger girls but halfway through the week i started getting super homesick myself. I was so sad that i started crying in the middle of the night in my tent, trying to be as quiet as possible to not wake up my tentmate. when i heard her wake up i felt so bad, but after a moment she asked if I was ok and started telling me about a funny thing that had happened to her that day. I felt so much better and laughed so hard at her story. flash forward 4 years and she’s one of my close friends and one of the sweetest people i know❤

acts of service is just my favorite, finding the small not always standout things in people AND ACTING ON IT. my examples are small but they honestly mean so much to me. one time i said i liked the bread from cheesecake factory, and i went on about how i wish they’d sell it in stores. maybe a month or two later, she bought it for me, and just to know that she was thinking of me was so sweet, and she’s done so many things like that. also this is so basic, but my cousin offered me his gloves even though he was freezing. they all mean so much to me

Steph what u said about how watching someone's videos changes ur life is so true for me with u. I just wrote an unnecessarily long comment abt it on ur day 18 video so I won't go into it in too much detail again XD but ur self confidence and determination to go after ur dreams is so inspiring. You also make youtube look like the funnest job ever and make me wanna start my own channel once I'm old enough to do things on my own and go places and travel like you! You truly inspire me to share my thoughts, opinions and passions more freely than I used to. It's almost as if u have such a positive impact all around the world solely because u so seamlessly teach and show ppl how to enhance their own lives in small ways, rather than showcasing an unnatural and high-maintenance too-good-to-be-true life for others to compare their to. If I'm romanticising my life having the time of my life doing it, it's only cuz u inspired me to :))

Recently, I started my Harry Potter journey. I've only watched 5/8 movies so far, and I can confidently say these movies have changed my life, and I wouldn't have given them a chance if it weren't for you. So happy we have vlogmas!!! Thank you for your dedication and hard work Steph we all truly notice!!! Question of the day: since you have inspired many of your viewers to get outside their comfort zone and explore moving out of a place that doesn’t feel like home what financial and budgeting advice do you have for people that will be living on their own?

For question of the day; how do you deal with losing your best friend due to them finding a new best friend and kinda seeming to forget about you? You always have such good outlooks on everything and it'd be great to hear your thoughts 🫶🏻

acts of service my best friend has done for me, for my 16th birthday she got me the good girl's guide to murder trilogy and she made matching bookmarks, like the bookmarks matched the covers and all and she did it probably while we had exams, and just made me feel so seen and loved. ❤

So glad you decided to do vlogmas again this year🫶🏽 When I was in secondary school I went to my (non-muslim) friend’s house and she asked her mum to make us a pescetarian meal so we could eat it together (I’m muslim, so I can only eat halal meat). To her it probably wasn’t that big of a deal but to me it was. It made me feel so loved and warm inside. I still think of that moment ‘till this day.

In general, I've always been sad about my bday. In hs, my friend Aubriegh would always get me gifts&candy and put it in my locker. One year she even did a painting for me (hanging in my office) 🥰 Always made my bday a little special

An act of service my friend did for me once was make a Minecraft scavenger hunt for me with a chest full of goodies at the end. It was right after my first ever breakup so I was heartbroken. She probably doesn’t remember it but I think about my friend’s act of kindness in this moment all the time.

I'm vegan, and I don't expect anyone to choose restaurants or make food to accommodate me, but I always remember the people who do. I go out of my way to do nice things for those people. My first friend when Knoxville literally tries a new vegan recipe every time I come to her house.

An act of service that I experience almost everyday it's that my best friend knows that I love coffee, so she brings coffee to me when im working, and I don't even ask. The other day I was mad because I didn't have my coffee of the day, and I was complaining. My best friend ordered DoorDash from dunking just so I could get my coffee. I love her sooo much.

Act of service: this was what made me know that he was the right one… The first date that I went on a date with my boyfriend, we started talking about my favourite flowers (sunflowers) I don’t even remember why we started talking about it. When we were like a month together he surprise me with a road trip to a sunflower field out of nowhere 💕 I knew there that he listened to me. He does small, simple things because he thinks and listens to me.
