This lawn renovation time lapse video shows me improving a lawn that is usually in top condition but with an excessively wet winter, even the best of lawns suffer, just like this one did before I arrived.
These lawn renovation steps are laid out in an easy to follow order. Let me know what you thought about it!.

Great as usual Shaun. Going to give Gypsum a go because we have a very heavy clay lawn. I'm 50/50 whether to fully returf or scarify, seed, top dress, which will be significantly cheaper. Thanks again for the content.

Hi Shaun, I've been watching your videos since last September, and I find them really informative. I have a question for you. I started a new turf lawn last year. This spring, I find I've got a lot of weed grass in it. Would you suggest I start again, or try what you have done here and cut it right back and reseed it. Thank you.

Hi Shaun, love the videos, they have been hugely helpful. I'm just about to tackle my 6 year old new build lawn that half is now a moss pit and the other half needs a good scarifying. Do you have a rough ratio of how far a 50l bag of compost would go? My front and rear lawn totals about 150m2 so trying to work out how many bags I'll need.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 ай бұрын
Hi I've been getting about 7 or 8 sq metres per 40 litre bag with the compost spreader which is 70 per 400 litres, or 140 sq metres per 800 litres so maybe 15 bags

Another superb video full of very useful snippets of information. How heavy should the roller be? I have one of those you put water into and I was only filling it halfway last year when I got it and was doing lawn work. Is this okay or should I fill it to really press the seeds & compost in? Cheers, Mick 🙂
@LawnRight
@LawnRight Ай бұрын
Hi Mick! It doesn't need to be super heavy. If you've scarified and created soil grooves the seeds will press in quite well with a lighter roller.. You can def go heavier just be careful if the ground is very wet as it can squash the soil into unevenness

Hi shaun great video on lawn care ,My self i had just bought a Miracle Gro drop spreader for great for feeding & seeding lawns. I overseeding a lawn yesterday with the drop spreader and used level 8 not the full 18 being honest on this number setting the seed dropped out not to little and not to much plus i over lapped the seed on the runs a bit. plus i lightly covered the seed with my Landzie spreader with compost. And do you think the seed will handle 5 deg temp for four nights in early hours then it warms up better in the day between 8 to 12 it is slight chilly at the mo i live in bristol south west , then next monday it gets warmer from the south Thanks Anthony

Another quality video. Are you relying on the compost spreader weight to firm in the seed a little bit, like a drag mat would. Or would you say there is no need to firm in the seed as long as it’s on the soil.
@LawnRight
@LawnRight 2 ай бұрын
Hi to be honest it probably doesn't matter too much. I generally use a roller last off for firming in.. But I've done jobs without the roller which went very well. I'd definitely use a drag mat, or lute or brush after applying compost so it works in between the blades and down to the soil surface
@davidplanet3919
@davidplanet3919 2 ай бұрын
Oh thanks. I just use the mower roller (not very heavy) to firm in seed when over-seeding the whole lawn. For small patches I press down on a small fabric-covered foam kneeling pad (Asda). I don’t have a lute but work the compost between the blades using a brush, which looks like a witches broom. I have not had any problems with germination when I have forgotten to firm in.
