Your hair looks great. No matter what people say you can be who you want and dress and atyle yourself how tou want. Also, there’s a difference between having a narcissistic personality, and having a positive personality. Being narcissistic means you think you’re so good, you’re better than everyone else, you think that if anyone else died it wouldn’t matter so long as you’re alive. However being positive is knowing that you’re flawed, and being okay with it. Being positive is gaging the confidence to be able to think you’re amazing, and know others are equally as amazing. You love yourself, but not to the extent that you get so coughs up in yourself that you ignore everything else. Clear difference, you’re doing okay

You are the person that has to live with yourself. And this works the best loving yourself and treating yourself well. Doesn't mean you can't be humble and caring about others at the same time. That doesn't mean you are the perfect person and can't grow anymore. I'm pretty sure true friends will tell you when you become a self-centered asshole. But I think you're very far away from that being so insecure about loving who you are.

I have had this EXACT same mental dilemma and I think what it really comes down to isn't confidence, but rather just better self-awareness. Being aware of all aspects of myself helps by acknowledging both the good and bad parts of me, in a self-compassionate way, helps me recenter myself. It also reminds me that I am human and that we are all learning and improving ourselves with every life experience. I hope that helps someone, cause coming to realize this for myself definitely helped me a lot.

You’re just an introspective kind of guy and that’s part of why you SHOULD like yourself, it’s a part of who you are. I have been going through a lot of these thoughts too, so I relate. I think it’s important that you are aware that you don’t want to cross the line from liking yourself into being arrogant, but we can all be arrogant at times unfortunately, we make mistakes and learn as we go. As long as you are aware of yourself and make sure you are honest about your mistakes you are allowed to love yourself and you don’t have to beat yourself up if you ever do something wrong, just learn from it and do what you can to make it right. I’m not even as kind or understanding as you are lol, I’m not sure if I want to be. I kind of like how I can be standoffish and self centered it’s just a part of how I am and something I like about me. I mean I don’t want to be a bad person, but I don’t think I am. I make mistakes but I try my best and try to be self aware. Anyway I am sure you’ll figure out all of this stuff you’re going through for yourself cuz you’re smart and you think things through. Thank you for sharing your thoughts online because it’s good to know I’m not alone. I don’t think it makes you narcissistic at least not in a bad way to share your thoughts online. They are important, and you’re important. You’re worth listening to and learning from. You’ll be ok 👍

Oh, Kovu, you would be such an interesting person to have a proper conversation with. Sometimes, I genuinly find myself just want to have a conversation with you. I don't really know you, you don't know me...but still. You have a very rich spectrum of thought. Admitably, that can sometimes go against a person in the sense of overthinking and analysing everything into detail, but on the other side, you have a brilliant mind. Brilliant doesn't have to mean perfect and flawless, but rather open to different concepts and able of critical thought. It seems like your mind is sometimes (age-wise) ahead of your body. But at the same time, you have a great sense of humour and "coolness" of a teenager. :D And just aside...you seem like a very sweet, caring person. Don't feel guilty for including yourself in the list of people you care for and are sweet to. Liking yourself doesn't mean you will end up as a selfish knob (as you put it :D). I really liked this video. You can kind of feel that you are more confident about yourself through the screen. But it's definitely not in the direction of cockiness. It just makes seem like a person who is kind, sweet and caring, but at the same time is able to stand up for yourself when needed. And definitely aside: the blue hair looks really cool on you. :D

Hi Kovu! I recognize what you’re saying, I was really insecure when I was younger and I’ve learned to like myself and to accept that I’m okay. But at the same time I’m scared that the fact that I care about myself makes me care about others less and makes me less kind (the things I value most are kindness and selflessness). I wanted you to know that you’re not weird because you feel this way and that you deserve to be proud of how far you’ve come!

Having self confidence is an amazing thing (I think). If you think about people standing up for what they believe in-- you don't really think of them as narcissistic. You think of them as strong, amazing people. Not people who just care about themselves. People who post selfies online for others to see are, sometimes, narcissistic people. But I think that there are different ways to go about it. If you post selfies because you think you look good or because you want other people to feel good about themselves-- How is that narcissistic? You think you look good. Only doing selfies for likes isn't the best and only caring about the numbers might be bad-- especially for your confidence. You are a strong, beautiful human being, and you will never turn out to be a narcissist. Trust me.

I'm really proud of you and I'm happy for you that you're becoming more confident with yourself. I don't think it's a bad thing that people can't relate to you on that point. Personally, it gives me much more hope seeing how you're improving rather than relating to your struggles. I know you were in a similar place I'm in and many people are and you are showing us that it's possible to get better and work on your self esteem. Also, i don't think you won't be self centered. If other people are telling you or going to make you feel like you should be shitty for liking yourself, then they are the ones who need to work on themselves. Hurting other people in that way isn't okay, because that means that they could make you into a push-over to do what they want you to do. So, no way, it's great that you are starting to love yourself! I've been having a really rough time with loving myself right now. I berate myself endlessly for every "horrible" thing I do, convince myself I'm not nice, and that no one wants to hang out with me because they all have friends who treat them better. It's really refreshing to hear a perspective from you, having felt extremely insecure and hating yourself in the past, that you now are striving and succeeding at self-love. It gives me a bit of hope for myself

I have experience a time when I didn't like myself because others kept telling me I was ugly and I ended believing it. Then I started looking at the mirror and seeing that I wasn't as bad, I started loving myself but sometimes I still feel like I'm not good enough for this world. I should work more in my self esteem.
