I have to search for a new job. But maybe I will remember that day as the best day. :P This track is awesome as all chroma tunes so far

This CHROMA project is unbelievable. Seeing Bicep transform over the years is truly magical, but by far, one of my faves has to be Back 2 U from 2015.

This is definitely ❤️🔥 with all the time-stretching and dynamic shifts, and the use of overdrive 😙👌🏻 I do love it 😁 I'm still gonna say "moar bass", though - even if it's the most generic, warm, resonant layer of bass or sub-bass carrying it along. Just a bit louder - particularly in the parts where the track goes VERY soft, and the melody is quite high and staccato sounding. High notes, especially played staccato, give very little stereo width. A little more audible, resonant bass would give it more depth, width and balance, and match the "acoustics" of other parts of the track more. 👍🏻

This is sounding niiice... 😚👌🏻 Just another little suggestion... 😅 Between 3:05 and 3:20, and at other points where you use time-stretching, there are layers of distortion kinda overlapping and sounding a bit muddy. I like the layers, and some muddiness works, but I think it would sound nicer with the layers separated out a bit, I think with panning, and maybe some other subtle changes to reduce clashing. (It helps sometimes to think of how orchestras solved similar issues with physical acoustics, pre-electricity.)
@HeatherDalgleish-hi4zdАй бұрын
Good, good, gooooood 😁 Try adding a subtle, quiet and low woodwind type sound right near the end, and fade out on that, on the tonic chord, after the last pizzicato sounds. 😉

Bicep needed to change. There music had become slightly stale. The bass/dnb vibe feels so natural. Saw them live in cork in the summer, it was epic. If this is (to you Andrew and Matt) your natural genre, stick it. I feel the old bicep, but the new bass-y tone takes it to a dirty, insane level. And the fact most of the chroma tunes are remakes of old bicep tunes makes it even more satisfying

I guess the focus has been on recovery from illness over whacking out brand new tracks right now. It does sound more a mix of other tracks tbh but overall I'm liking Chroma
@HeatherDalgleish-hi4zd3 ай бұрын
This track is 🔥 musically. It's well formed, it moves well, and there's only a few things I could say could make it better musically. These things are: 1) I think it would be better with a little more little more soft-loud contrast between the heavier and less heavy parts, to accentuate the rises and drops. It sounds like the entire track has been compressed to near uniform loudness, in a way that doesn't work optimally for the music. I get that you don't want the volume veering massively, but uniformity isn't always best. 2) You could go harder on the bass, and use overdriven bass more often throughout the track, even during the softer parts, to create more suspense, tension, build-up and release. For examples of what I mean, I'd suggest Thylacine's tracks "Allegri" and "Moskva". He uses a lot of overdriven bass in both tracks, in different ways, but particularly during softer drops and interludes, in a way that works really nicely, and which I think would also work in this track.
