With regards to placing raw biochar on the surface of dirt like that i agree with you it can only help and will slowly inoculate and work its way into the dirt over time but another reason it is good to do is to provide some ground cover to reduce the damaging effects of direct sun on the ground and alse lessen the impact of rainfall. With carbon credits i was of the understanding that not only large scale operations are needed but also the use of pyrolysis kilns are too as we have been looking into it a little also lately

Indeed mate. I even sometimes throw some in the lake. It floats round for a few days & eventually ends up on the marginal shelf. Basic Kon-Tiki kilns are acceptable for CC, although being smaller, would be more labor intensive for us. We'd be willing to switch over from making it in cone pits but it's the huge volume that's the main issue. It's a shame because 100% of our feedstock is a renewable byproduct from the goats. We have more than enough manure & urine to inoculate it & enough available land suitable as the Carbon Sink site. I can see why there's strick guidelines for creating carbon credits that can be checked & monitored, but man some of these companies are creaming it. Most are not interested in small-medium sized projects. Whatever the outcome, our final goal is to have a self sustaining herd by cultivating enough fodder so we don't have to drive off farm (apart from to get their shots & supplements.) Thankfully, the goat market recovery is creeping along!

Out and about on my Honda Click and going down paths like this, I saw the biggest natural living lizard I've ever seen face to face. A short way up ahead it stopped right in the path and was longer than the width of the path. It had its head turned and looking straight at me. I was only going slow and stopped so's not to scare it. It must've suddenly realised what it was looking at because it diappeard with a dart. A very long monitor lizard.

They usually stay around the lake & nest directly on the road or the rocky parts of the island. I'm apprehensive about cutting the grass now. Do you know if they would make a nest in the grass?

We are in Darwin Australia and we have the Indian Moringa which is much larger than the Thai Moringa My wife has sent seeds to a Thai lady in Korea I can ask my wife to send some seeds to you if you want we can exchange emails if you like The indian Moringa is a fast grower and the seed pods about twice the size of the Thai Moringa Regards Mick

It's something everyone is aware of out here. I always put lotion on apart from the colder dry months (although deet isn't great for you either.) I know certain animals, including horses, can get it but unsure about goats. Thankfully, selenium is good for combating it & us & the goats get plenty of that 😉
