1. How do they fit while wearing glasses? 2. Does it have a mic u can talk through, what's the quality?
@rob22576 ай бұрын
I’ve had Galaxy Buds Live for years and I wear glasses, they’re non sealed in ear buds. Battery is around 5 hours, case fits in a jeans watch pocket, and I’ve literally had conversations while vacuuming and people don’t know and can hear me fine, better than my iPhone’s built in mic. I keep the touch controls turned off because if you’re working out or moving a lot they will move some, but I sleep with them in so they stay in okay. ANC is pretty good for non sealed buds. App is the same for iOS and Android. Putting them in is weird at first but you’ll get used to it. I can heartily recommend the Live Buds.

I would have liked to see a more detailed noise leakage test for this type of earbuds - for example sitting next to each other with the distance you'd see on a bus. Also a comparison with the Sony LinkBuds would have been useful since they featured on this show before and have a similar concept at a similar pricepoint.

I’d have liked them to go into it but I can say from using them that it’s a very tinny sound can be heard in a very quiet place with a volume all the way up It’s extremely dependent on the noise environment since your brain is still taking in sounds through your ear holes

I tried the Oladance as well and couldn't deal with the amp buzz. My favourite open earbuds in terms of sound quality are the Sony Linkbuds, but they kept breaking on me, I had to RMA them 3 times in the year I had them (I tread my gear pretty nicely, I still have Sennheiser over head headphones from 2010ish that I haven't broke) and now that warranty was up I couldn't justify spending another $250CAD on something that I expect to break again. I've landed on the Shokz OpenFit, they're super comfy, sound better than the Oladance and have great battery life. Definitely recommend Shokz!

Knowing the other Shokz products these are likely gonna be pretty solid. I've got two pair of the connected versions of these that go behind the head. Obviously the audio quality isn't amazing, but as someone who could never wear buds, I'll take ANYTHING at this point. We can go on walks and still talk while I have music playing, or I can go for a run and not have to worry about not hearing a car behind me. Don't know that I'd spend $120 for a pair, given the ones we found were like $20, but I hope to see more types and innovation in this space.

Def useful if you still like to hear your surroundings and don't like to be completely cancelled out for noise. If you want an actual earbud I think Airpods Pro 2 have the best Active Listening (terms of sounding close to normal w/o earbud). I have these Shokz and at 50% volume perfect sound, I can hear surroundings and music just fine. Snares could leak but honestly with ambient noises around no one should hear it unless its super quiet. Pushing 70% or using that treble boost does increase audio leakage, this is where you probably shouldn't go if the room you are in is super quiet.

Did they fix/add easy auto connect to another device? ie. I have two of their products. Each of them has been paired with many of my devices but the most annoying thing about them is you need to disconnect with previous device before connecting with the next one (even if they're all already paired). You can't just initiate the connect from the next device. This is super annoying for a $200 product. My old earbuds from Samsung has easy connect and I can just connect with my laptop without having to go disconnect it first from my phone which could be in the next room or elsewhere in the house. If a $100 product can do this, they have no reason not to add this feature (if they haven't). Also, it's hard to hear someone talking to you if you have these open ear bone conduction headphones if you're listening to something. So it's not really "you can hear others". It's a mixed bag.

The controls are a mixed bag, it's probably for the best that they are only hold or double tap to avoid accidental commands but buttons would be even better. same, they get uncomfortable after a while. Also I would love to have IEMs, they just don't fit into my ear canal even with the smallest tip size. So I definitely wanna give these open air type ear buds a shot

The problem with all these products is that even if they’re really great quality and have better sound and noise cancelling, the software is going to suck due to Apple etc having a monopoly on their platform in terms of features

Just take your regular sport earphones and remove the silcone ends... and you basically have this.

One thing is that a lot of people use glasses or sunglasses, are they comfortable using them? , get Riley on the case!

Seems like a very sponsored video.

What made you think that, was it when he said it was a sponsored video?

I had one of these. I ended up returning it because my Family could hear the music VERY LOUDLY and also the sound quality was not great. If they were cheaper it would be okay but they are WAY too expensive for what you're getting.

Bose Ultra Open earbuds have the exact same design, but with much, much better audio quality and noise cancelling.

I have the original OpenFit. Touch controls are horrible and will work poorly with a winter hat, in rain, etc. The over-the-ear type is also not great for glasses, sunglasses, etc. I swapped to the Bose Ultra Open, which - while more expensive - is just a much better product overall. Better sound, fit, design, comfort, controls.

No in-person microphone testing at a busy road or anything... I had really hoped LMG would be one of the better reviewers of headsets and the like, where they'd test the phone call quality (microphone) proper testing out in the real world. Instead, they only occasionally do tests with music tracks of construction or busy store playing from the speakers, something that does not give an accurate example of how the microphone quality sounds...
