I have the open run pro 2 mini. I am fortunate cause the loop around the back fits snug without being tight and I don’t notice it when I lay my head against a pillow or anything. I bought these for falling asleep listening to podcast etc. I am a side sleeper and for anyone trying to find a comfortable headphone for sleeping these are far and away the best option I have found. I get ear infections with using anything in ear and these I don’t even notice when I am laying on my side. Hope this helps anyone in my same situation

You give an excellent explanation and showcase of the differences between each of these headphones. I had both the Openrun Pro 2 and the Openswim Pro. Now I don't have a choice or favorite between the 2 as they're pretty good for various reasons. I'd go for the Openrun Pro 2 if you want to keep using USB-C and want better audio quality. One major issue with these is that the USB-C plug is the sole reason it maintains the Ip55 water resistance, if you lose that it's game over for the headphones when they're exposed to water/sweat. The Openswim Pro would be the more practical option as they have IP68 water resistance and it isn't from any covers for the charging port, the unit itself is water resistant as is. Now the downside with these headphones is the audio quality won't be as good. (Sadly an issue with bone conduction headphones in general) Next is the magnetic charging cable that only work with Shokz headphones, no USB-C at all. So if you lose that cable, you're SOL until you buy another one.

After owning the open run pro 2 for a month and comparing to my open run pro which I used every day for 18 months. I prefer the pro. The pro2 are a fraction heavier because of the usbC charge point. Dont get me wrong I am still happy with the pro2 but for a tight fit and the fact that I would always forget that I was wearing the pro, I do miss the pro. The pro2 just isn't the same for me. I think those that want to wear shokz while exercising the pro would be best. My set of shokz pro fractured after 18 months of use in the centre of the thin band but I also wore them in my sleep to play white noise. They were on me nearly 24/7 I am still a fan of the shokz.

I've had the openfit air for 6 months. I use them at work and for my walks everyday. I've had no issues at all with them. Absolutely the best ear buds I've ever owned. I will never go back to earbuds that stick into my ears again.

I have had the Open Move and now Openfit Air. I am loving the compactness and style of the Openfit and ability to use only one when laying on a pillow. One thing to consider is you now have 3 potential things you can lose as you can’t charge or pair them without the case. With ADHD this is causing me some anxiety but I haven’t lost them yet ! I got about 18 months out of the Move before they physically snapped but I didn’t not care for them as well as I should have falling asleep with them on.

I bought Open Run Pro 2 (Orange) as my one and only headphones for work/daily commute/workout. I only listen to podcasts & audiobooks, so to me the sound quality is good enough. So far it's more comfortable than the Openfit as I wear glasses (I tried the samples for all models). As for the mic its actually not that bad for open ear headphones, I'm really impressed that they don't pick up too much background noises during calls. Happy with my purchase so far to replace my Airpods pro Gen 1.😄

First off, great video very informative. However, I think many people are misunderstanding the purpose of bone conducting devices like peas. These types of devices have been in use for two decades now for two way radio use. Enforcement, special, ops teams, etc. The purpose of the open ear design is to not desensitize one of your primary senses while listening or communicating. You can still hear the world around you. Back in the day, the sound quality was not high fidelity, but you could be at a rock concert and hear words clearly in your head while someone was talking to you over a two-way radio. People who run jog or walk in the city are putting themselves at a security disadvantage when wearing over the ear headphones or earbuds that block off their ability to hear oncoming threats. Now that they’ve gotten better as far as Fidelity goes, devices like these allow you to enjoy music and not desensitize yourself to the threats around you. There would be no purpose to having only one year using the device at a time because both ears are capable of hearing the world around you. You hit mute on your phone mute on your music and you can have a conversation with the person. Someone comes up behind you and says hey Bob, you can hear them. If you want high, Fidelity, get a good set up over the ear headphones.

Thanks for making this video. It has been helpful. One question: I am trying to decide between the OpenRun Pro and the OpenRun Pro 2. I am concerned that the bone conduction and air conduction technologies -- with improved bass sound -- in the Open Run Pro 2 will reduce ambient noise sound. I want to hear ambient noise sound such as approaching vehicles (especially coming from behind) for safety reasons. What has your experience been between these two models for hearing ambient noise? Thanks again for making this (and your other) videos about Shokz headphones!

Haven't had the original openrun model but I did have the Openrun Pro 2 and the Openswim Pro. The Openrun Pro 2 will sound better and have usb-c charging. However one issue is that the USB-C charging cover is the only thing keeping it's IP55 water resistance. If it falls off then it's game over. (And it felt to me like my unit was already loose) The Openswim Pro have the better water resistance, and it isn't with any covers or plugs. The unit itself is fully IP68 water resistant. Now the issues with this is that they use the magnetic charging cable only meant for Shokz products. So if you lose that, you're SOL until you buy another one.

wish they had a bone conduction in the earbud form factor. I have an open run pro (and an older open run) and I love it because I can just leave them on even when I have to stick in hearing protection (I sometimes work around loud stuff) The main downside is that loop around the back as its hard to wear them the normal way while leaning back or laying down.

I don't swim, but there is a black Friday deal coming up. You could either buy the open fit or the openswim pro and they give you a pair of Openrun for free. Would you buy the Open run pro 2 in case they cost 150 on holidays, or would you take any of those 2 options only to take advantage of this promo? If so, which ones would you pick?
@Aesthetic_Al2 ай бұрын
I saw that promo in my inbox this morning haha. I would personally go with OpenRun Pro 2. I would only go with the BOGO if I knew someone that would want one and would 50/50 with. The OpenSwim Pro and the OpenRun both have the more noticeable bone conduction. More vibrations that I am not a fan of and the native charger. hope this helps (btw I wouldn't be surprised if the openrun got a small update before end of year) to match the entire line.

I have the OpenRuns and I've bought additional ones for my wife and daughter as well since they kept on borrowing mine (can usually find them for around $90 on sale). I use mine when bike riding in the country as I can still hear approaching traffic (I have a radar tail light also). However, I'm thinking of getting the Pros to see if they can overcome the wind noise a little better. And no, I don't use them when riding in the city.

They kinda can if you turn them all the way up but not well. they dont do jack for trafic noise next to you. I've found the best compromise is sticking in one earplug. you can hear whatever your listening to clearly in that ear and everything else in the other.
