@@starinthesky8134 he can sometimes be a little antagonistic against chat, he at times also got slightly political during the covid era. Some people might also take issue with him portraying his own rankings and opinions as higher / more valid than others, but part of that is that he simply likes to state his opinions and have them be challenged or argued. And another part is that he quite simply IS "the guy" as far as 1s are concerned. Perhaps some of his critics are also Musty or Squishy fans, both of them seem to have issues with Johnny. So overall nothing major as far as I'm concerned, that's all I could think of, I myself do really appreciate him.

LOVE the idea of a gauntlet seeding to incentivize climbing for higher ranks. Back when hearthstone used their ranked system for qualification into their championship tour, top players would stop playing and just squat on their ranks once they crossed the threshold. Love that this basically forces them to keep grinding, as the payoff is just too good.

feer’s point on being a “flow player” is why i think daniel has separated himself as #1 in NA. in firstkillers losses it looks like he’s forcing ground play and not relying on his mechanics, but daniel goes all out confidence with his mechanics and it works. if first played with aerial confidence in high level matches i think he could easily be #1 again because i think his ground game is better than daniel’s, daniel is just the more confident player or “flow player”

the idea that qualifying for tourneys based on comp rating is genius. imagine if rlcs did this for 3s. All the private matches for high level pros would just shift to grinding ranked to be in the top whatever of players to make rlcs.

I get what you're saying about a flow playstyle but I still prefer the playstyle of players like rw9 or jack who know how to take time and set up nearly impossible to defend shots. The flow playstyle looks more like the playstyle a plat 3 would have if he could consistently control his car.

The absolute pinnacle of a flow state play style is Dark. Some days he loses to top 30 players, other days he will smoke Dandroid in a BO5. Imagine if he had Rw9s consistency and defence. Although the smart play style is obv better, the stupid fast, twitchy, yet CONSISTENT play style is so much more appealing. Being able to entertain hundreds of thousands of people and simply running rings around the top 0.01% of the player base is something that's absolutely ABSURD to me.
