Hey, Got a question, does these blades cut drywall screws?
@jjsuperalfadogg1223 жыл бұрын
Saw a great tip from a Festool channel. When using dust extraction according to what was said, the air movement provides a cooling effect which allows the blades to run cooler, thereby increasing blade life. Makes sense.

Thanks for that! Did you use the Fein sanding pads with your Festool OSC 18?

I don’t have a vecturo...yet but the best blades I ever found for my multitool were dremil carbide teeth blades. It’s a $30 blade but they hold up extremely well on Jobsites

I love that snap lock attachment style. No sprung lever.

thanks really cool for sharing. personally: multimaster = vecturo. pretty much the same beast, have both, love both. blades are similar and as good. moved to vecturo for 2 specific reason: for the ultimate precision… with the best depth stop attachment; and ultimate dust extraction.

I have the Bosch cordless multi tool with the starlock blade system. I really liked the Bosch blades. The cheapest I could find them was around $8 a piece I think. I found a cheap no name brand on eBay awhile back that was a knock off of the starlock system. They fit my Bosch tool but not perfectly. I really have to push them to snap them into place, but they only cost around $2-3 a piece. They last only a fraction of the time as well compared to the Bosch blades. If you're saying that the fein blades are better than Bosch, i might give them a try. I am almost out of my cheap knock offs. In hindsight, I really think I would have bought the DeWalt multi tool just because I still think $8 or more per blade is too much, regardless how nice they are. With all that said...I do love my Bosch multi tool, just wish the blades were cheaper. Great videos!

I have found out that of course, Festool oscillating blades are the best when it comes to Fein or Coram Tools. The reason why is that Festool ones seem to be made from thicker gauge steel which reduces the vertical wobble if that's the right term. With this beast of the machine and its high rate of oscillation, any reduction in blade play (the wobble) is very welcomed. By the way, I ended up snapping one of the Corams in two. It was a little too much for this powerful tool. Joe, I don't have the this problem myself, but have you noticed that it takes pretty large men's hands to hold this beast comfortably in one-handed?

I did notice I liked two hands most of the time. Usually hold with one and then guide it from the back with the other. It does have a fat grip. So far I’m loving it though. I’ve grabbed my Dewalt a couple times and just the immediate terrible vibration just ruins it for me and I go get the vecturo 😅

Hello, can you confirm that it is possible to use the Fein sanding pads on the Festool OSC 18? I watched your video presentation of several multifunction tools, and saw that you were sanding wood with the Festool and triangular sanding pads... Thank you in advance for your help. Best regards! 🙂

When the blades are dull, you can grind teeth with a 1mm grinding disc. I'm dutch. ;-)

Your video was one of the ones that I watched to push me over the edge to order this osc18 kit, $800. The thing I needed for the most I was using the Fein profile sanding kit , even bought the new starlock plus profile kit, will not fit onto the osc18. I wanted to use that profiling kit in combination with the Vecturo dust collection, ...nope... oh well. ...btw I love the Bosch carbide extreme blades!
@MillisConstruction4 жыл бұрын
That’s not good. They’re almost copies of Fein too. I wonder what made it not fit?
@theloneviking91454 жыл бұрын
Millis Construction The whole metal piece surrounding the head, where the dust collector snaps onto.. I even tried to rig something up where I took a blade drilled a hole in it and bolted the profile sander to that, to get it away from the head. It looked like it would work but I think the increased distance increase the oscillation and the little clamp-on rubber/cork piece flew out every time.

Other than that I really like it! I’ll be doing some tile/grout work in the upcoming months and I’m going to really like the depth-stop foot to keep me from digging in too far.

But does new starlock plus profile kit fits WITHOUT dust collection?
@theloneviking91454 жыл бұрын
Finnik66 It actually won’t because of that metal shroud on the osc18 surrounding where the blade snaps onto. The little clamp pieces of the starlock plus sanding profile kit get in the way of it. I even tried to trim those sandpaper clamping “ears” on the Fein down a little bit but it didn’t work. The solution would be to make this profile sanding kit with a larger/longer offset then it would fit even with the dust collector on it. I wish I could post a picture of what I tried it would probably save people a lot of money. I paid like almost 70 bucks for the new profile kit , no use to me now.

I’ve got the Fein cordless kit and only use Fein blades, can’t let cheap blades into the Fein box it would lower property value

I hear that!!

Did you tried the plunge (ta/ah) accessory ? I bought the one for the older corded vecturo but it doesn't fit in my recent fein multimaster.. I hope the one who comes with this recent osc vecturo would fit in

Has anyone determined if Festool’s blades are made by Fein? They sure look the same…
