Gimbal IS beats digital every time. When you pan with the Huawei, you see obvious stepping. Both gimbals have much better IS. That said: the FT has much better color, albeit a tad teal. The Fimi is mad magenta. Worst I've seen. The Osmo Pocket II crushes both in picture and has acceptable inboard sound besides (a mic port would still be better).

Nope, absolutely wrong. In good light, Gopro Hero 9/10 just destroys any gimbal mounted solution all considered. In bad light, the pocket camera stabilization is better.

FeiyuTech Pocket 2 bests the Fimi Palm 2 for me in terms of picture quality. Picture Quality should be one of the top criteria for consideration. Afterwhich we can talk about audio, stablization, low light capability and etc. How about FeiyuTech Pocket 2 vs DJI Pocket 2 next mate?

picture quality can easily be adjusted in camera or in post, other things like audio, stabilization, low light, cant easily be adjusted. picture quality is the least thing i look out for in a camera, audio and stabilization tops.

FY Log looks like "contrast -5" setting on my ancient HTC One S, which was impressive at the time that I could tweak such video settings on a smartphone - but still looked like crap because of virgin-narrow dynamic range

I bought the 2S version of this camera. I love it. You're right. The internal mic is crap. I ordered the external mic adapter to use with it. I also bought the better case. At least I knew what I was getting after watching this video. That helped set expectations. So thanks for that.

Kinda reminds me of mobile phones. Initially the race was the make the smallest possible device until consumers said they preferred usability and features over size, which is why we now see fairly massive phones again. These just seem small to the point of having compromised usability and features to the point at which you might as well just use the phone you carry anyway

nope. theres many street tours and they use this camera. this is perfect for street vlogging. search youtube "action kid" and he uses this or a phone plus gimbal only for livestream. this is more stable than a phone, perfect size not so distracting.

I bought the Osmo Pocket 1 a while back, mainly for flashlight mode. You can walk around with the camera on your side in flash light mode, and nobody knows you are filming. For everything else, the X3000 is still the best.

It feels like you have made up your mind before hand and it doesn't matter what the actual footage looks like - but the footage is so much better in the FT Pocket 2, the white balance, the colours than the P40 - and the FT Pocket 2. While we're at it, the FT Pocket 2 is inferior to the DJI Pocket 2 (wireless mic, etc). Granted you can't really see the quality of the footage in the tiny screen but then judge the results... last, for the DJI pocket 2 you can get a Polar Pro gimbal lock so you can put it in your pocket without problems.

The phone is just inconsistent. It didn't look great in that moment I compared it to the FeiyuTech. But towards the end of the video it looked way better and is much more versatile.

@@cameraconspiracies I appreciate the quick reply and your videos - even if I disagree with you and feel the DJI Pocket 2 is the perfect vloging camera. But yeah, a P40 or even an iPhone 12 Pro will do the job too and is much more versatile. I do feel though that most videographers can't cope with a gimbal camera and want it to behave like a static camera. Gimbals are like cats, they have some character of their own. Perhaps most videographers are dog people. Take care.

​@@evolution_bonsai youre right, i have the dji pocket 1, and ever since having it, ive wanted to upgrade to a "big camera" but most cameras stabilization isnt close to the dji. the gimbal is tricky and overtime ive found the perfect setup for me, which is no face tracking just follow mode. currently im looking at the zv1 and canon g7x mark 2, both seem to have good enough stabilization. but im not overly impressed either, i would use them mainly for low light vlog videos. after several research i realized in the "big camera" space, the bigger the sensor the worse the stabilization. which is sad. what we really need is a 1 inch dji pocket. that would be perfect.

With the amount of accessories and support for DJI Pocket, it's just a better purchase. With these other knockoff little gimbals - even with a wider FOV, or a lower price, the lack of widespread support from major accessory manufacturers is a non-purchase for me. But for the love of god, DJI, WIDEN UP THAT FOV ON THE POCKET!!

It’s either your ninja walk or the z-axis stab is much improved in these compared to osmo pocket 1. Also pgytech make a gimbal protector which slides on to the locked gimbal but can scratch - I had one for my OP1.

Both cameras are not worth the price. Buying an additional microphone and adapters takes them their biggest advantage, compactness. For a much lower price you can buy a used compact Sony camera with great optical stabilization and sound. The only thing you need to buy is an Ulanzi stick ;)

Also, what do you think does better 1080p, the Fimi Palm 2 or DJI Osmo Action? I have the Palm 2, but the 1080p looks like one of those old Fisher Price toy cameras that would record onto audio cassette. Yeah, it has 4K, but then I would have to purchase a $4,000 supercomputer and 12 TB of external storage just to be able to use it.

most phones are not great for vlogging because no way to use the better back cameras and frame yourself. They need to put a 2" or so screen on the back of the phone for doing selfies. That's why I don't ever use my phone for selfies. I do use it for other video though.

I would love something like this, but with a full frame sensor. Also, a zoom lens that goes from 8-16mm at f1.2 constant aputure. And for it only to weigh about 1 pound and fit in my front pocket when I'm wearing skinny jeans. And also, while I'm at it, 4k 120p and 1080p up to 960p. With dual pixel auto focus. And I only wanna spend $100. Anything other then what I just said, SUCKS!

Its amazing they still make 1/2.5" sensor cameras. These would make so much sense if they had at least 1" sensor.. but nope. The 1/2.5" are so cheap to make, because there is so much lenses & sensor produced for that size as they are standard in CCTV and automation. And then trying to get 4k out of 1/2.5" sensor.. thats idiotic. Best you can get is 2k from that size.
