Feldspar family

Commonly called Feldspar, these Aluminum silicates differ only in the Alkaline metals bonded to them.
Orthoclase
K-Feldspar = KAlSi3O8
Plagioclase
Albite = NaAlSi3O8
Anorthite = CaAl2Si2O8
Fun fact: Feldspar comes from German and means Field flake because of the lines of cleavage that allowed this mineral to chip into small flattish pieces.
