I attended her VidCon panel and I've gotta disagree. Felicia and Kim have created a channel that fulfills their goal: to create an online community of nerds - creators and viewers. G&S has allowed Veronica Belmont to turn her Sword and Laser into a video format, something she's wanted to do for a long time, and something that has made her community stronger. It's the opposite of sellout because they have control, not some executive somewhere.

I think you might be nitpicking here, when I think of the industry, I don't think only of developers, writers, and programmers, but also some of the more cultural aspects, things like the guild, or kotaku, or whatever else bolsters the experience of being involved with video games. The best part of Gunstar Heroes for me, is that the reaction you guys had to it is identical to what my first impression was at around age 12 (i was born in 1980). Thing is, i believe that we're not identical really, but that the game itself has captured all of these feelings regardless of who plays it the first time or their age. Treasure games in general have that magic, and it's why they're still one of my favorite developers.

One of the best games ever made was Starflight for the Genesis. You are the captain of a starship and you must singlehandedly save the galaxy. As the player, you have in your possession a sci fi novella which is the captain's log of some one that just barely failed to save the galaxy and sent you his notes as his dying act. The game is incredibly in depth and open ended for its time and is hours of fun! Plus you get the sadistic thrill of blowing up the homeworld of aliens that insult you!

Oh, this is hilarious. If you watched all of the different segments on this channel, you would see multiple guildies pop up. Zaboo and Felicia were on an episode of Table Top together (with Wheaton who plays in The Guild as well), Clara has been in a few segments with Felicia on this show, even Riley showed up in an episode of Table Top. And, like lovelyvampirebride said, they ARE working on a Season Six. How are you her biggest fan?
