+Lordjiraya I think it has to do with not being married and having kids like most people that age do. I'm also 36 and I feel similarly young for the same reasons. Taking on more responsibility tends to age people. Not saying either way is good or bad - it just changes your outlook on life and how young you may seem to people.

Watching Felicia struggle really bummed me out. When I have kids I'm definitely giving them access to all the cool geek stuff but encouraging them to develop physically. I'm glad I read stacks of books and did karate and sports, I feel so much more confident in my own body so that I don't have to escape in the characters. I'm not ripped, but I feel like if I had to climb a wall I could if I needed to.

Not at all, it was her strength that was surprising. Also, it didn't help she was being juxtaposed with a stout, strong woman which made her seem all the more weak. It seemed she played it up at first since her final run went smoother.

Mike Deen I feel like perhaps the physical stuff is not what interests Felicia, you can encourage your kids to develop physically, but some kids just may not be into it. As an example, I'm more into books and KZbin and manga than sports, which don't interest me at all. But it is important to be well rounded, so you're probably right in that. I'm just reminding you that you might get cosplayer that doesn't like heavy lifting or something. :)

Oh of course. I never really liked sports either. My parents let me try whatever I liked but nothing really piqued my interest like a great novel or cool movie/show. I stayed in karate for almost a decade simply because of how confident it made me (and because most of my favorite characters were so fit and good at hand to hand combat). For her sake though I hope she can at least defend herself, I don't doubt her fame is at least a little bit of a shield, but sometimes that's not enough.

I been doing Parkour for about 5 years and it differently nice having upper body strength, but i feel having lower strength to be extremely more important. it allows you to through your wight around better, have better speed, and bigger jumps. but for real nice going Felicia!!! you got skills

I used to train at Tempest! I'd say pretty much every new/inexperienced person at the gym behaves the exact same way for the first few weeks. It takes a while to find your parkour legs. Great video, makes me miss it!

When my friends and I were younger we'd play a game called 'grounders' at the local jungle gym (similar to the floor is lava). Near the apex of our experience we were all using similar techniques to avoid touching the floor while leaping around the structure. I've known what parkour is for quite a while, but I never realized that we were using similar moves in a kid's game. I mean, we didn't really do any flips to make it look fancy, but a lot of the basic moves were similar. It's great exercise

I've got to say that I'm always impressed by Felicia Day. She does seem like she has some anxiety when doing this and the rope swing a bit back - but she sticks in there and does it anyways.
