Felix da Housecat VS. Berghain - DJ Refused Entry Into The Club (VIDEO)

Chicago house music icon Felix Da Housecat attempted to get into Berlin's Berghain but was refused entry.
Berghain is notoriously hard to get into, but that didn't stop Felix from venting his frustration about not being able to get in on Twitter.
The producer levelled plenty of criticism at the Berlin club during his Twitter rant, including claims of racial discrimination, disrespect of Chicago and Detroit and a focus on money over music. The tweets have since been deleted by Felix's management.
Waking up the following day after his comments, Felix made it clear he had no regrets and still stands by what he said via Twitter.
"Woke up this morning. Have no regrets, my management took down tweets! I stand by every word, the truth hurts but it is what it is!"
"Yes I'm sober, and yes Berghain are racist cunts who shitted on house music. Yes Chicago, yes Detroit, now what? Wake up."

I think this place is a cure for humility. And I think people take it personally. It gives the doorman supernatural powers... And I really think the doorman selects people randomly because there’s too many people in the queue.

It's often about protecting your investment. Big club owners dream of scooping the white professional crowd because they spend more and cause less trouble, and black faces make them uneasy. I have black friends and they're cool but in my time running clubs the owners made a policy of exclusion because of the ongoing issues with black men who couldn't handle their liquor, picked fights, and tried incessantly to hit on white girls, and black girls who picked fights, ignored any general directions from security by claiming racism, and frequently stole drinks, phones and purses. There was a footage file of known thieves and the vast majority were black. People go to these clubs to let their hair down and don't want to have to worry about someone stealing their jacket. Once you lose that ideal crowd the club is basically dead as an investment and that's when the door policy is abandoned, followed shortly thereafter by the club.

I've been working in a big club for over 20 years and you got it spot on. In Belgium it's not the blacks who cause problems, but the moroccans and turks. You let one in, next week they'll come with 5. Within this and a year you can close your club cause it has been ruined by these geezers. When the girls don't wanna come anymore, it's over and out.

What a load of bullshit. Stereotypical nonsense at its worst. You get bad people of all skin colours. That`s discrimination at its worst. Isn't the rave scene all about peace and unity and bringing people together? So what if a high number of people with ginger hair were trouble makers? Would you start banning people with ginger hair from your shitty venues? That`s how ridiculous you both sound. Plus it was black artists who created electronic music and the rave scene. It all started in chicago and detroit. Without the founding fathers of house and techno from the windy and motor city, we wouldn't have any of this. So both of you do your research, because either don't have a clue what your talking about in regards to club and rave culture. And it shows. Plus, both your clubs sound like utter garbage from the sounds of it and aren't worth a visit anyway.

If he was acting anything like how he was on twitter while in the queue there's the reason he wasn't allowed in.Hell even the local clubs without a reputation for turning most people away would be like 'nah mate you've had enough' if someone tried barging their way in all like 'do you know who I am vip' etc

Elitist approach. I don't prefer clubs that are selecting people just by looking at them. Let people in, if they disturb the crowd kick them out. I'm not a big loss for any club but personally I've been rejected once for entrance for a club and that was it, I'll never get an attitude like that from a useless bouncer. cause most bouncers are low life as hell and they don't know who to let in at all.

Well of course Berghain has every right to select their patrons. I guess this club is more about hedonism than techno. Nothing to do with racism (pretty cheap excuse from Felix da Housecat). According to this Richie Hawtin was also denied entry and he played on Tresor...

He really wants so hard to be let into a gay club. House music is boring and his music is soft. Also the whole hood street attitude is a turn off to a lot of people. Doesn't Berghain only play that really hard and tough techno? Not the sissy stuff he makes.

Back in the day felix did used to play and produce a lot of minimal and techno. He wasn't just an house and electro DJ and producer. CD1 of his global underground mix, was minimal and techno. Though these days, he only seems to do the deep tech house stuff.

Also i forgot to mention, panorama bar is part of berghain and there they play house music with deep house and deep tech. So, they do play house music at berghain.

***** yes ok i know what do u mean with "impersonal" and yes i was in many set of that type also for many hours so i know what can be hypnotic too, but now after some years i just think is mediocre music and be impersonal is not a good point (Dettman in many set also spins some 80's pop hit in the end, all much standard and definitely personal, personal memories etc), if i listen something and i dont remember it it's simply not a good point for the music (and me), i don't think Berghain is not pretentious otherwise it wouldn't need rigid selection at the door (i never was left out or trying desperately enter there dont worry im not delusional until that point, i have just listen them in other places), for the rest just check my channel or google+

+Synthetic Md ok im happy if Guetta can't get into Berghain and i personally think Guetta is a tumor in electronic music, i mean pretentious cause it has a strict door policy so it's pretentious in that way but it's ok in a private club you can just let enter your friends if you want simply pretending it, so pretentious in that way. you have just seen the last 3 tunes of the stream i have selected, i have over 1000 there, i mainly listen to trance anyway, do you think producing a valid gabber tune is easy and make one random Ostgut ton tune is difficult?

***** yeah i prefer early trance nowadays it's more difficult to find good trance but i still search, but i like only techno/hard trance and progressive not psy or goa, even if some psy is also progressive i hate all the rest of sounds they use in their tracks

+Synthetic Md yes i can (cit.) but i think a lot of ostgut style tunes are not difficult it just depends on the kind of software/hardware do you use, now there are softwares who can reproduce micro house and minimal perfectly you don't need much hardware even if now it's fashion & hipster to own a lot of old hardware (often to compose horrible music), but for minimal i think there is only groove that decides what is better cause sounds often are absent
