We used to make these in the 1960s when growing up, all I knew them as was (throwing arrow) loads of cheap fun. Unfortunately as years have passed I had forgotten how to make one. You have just rekindled the little boy in me though in all truth, and my wife would agree the little boy is never far under the surface and long may it stay so. Thanks Felix

When I was a kid (40 years ago) we used to make them but we called them french arrows. They were about half the length and made out of dowel from a hardware store. We used to split them at the end for flights usually out of card, notch them, and usually use a shoe lace. If we were feeling evil we would tape a nail to the end. How the memories come flooding back.

Also insgesamt schon eine ziemlich clevere Pfeil-Wurf-Technik. Danke für‘s Zeigen! Beste Grüße ... Thomas

@@FelixImmler keep up the good fight bro. I'm gonna teach my son how to do this once I get it down a bit . This is a very useful survival skills as not everyone has the eye to tiller a bow...and most raw survival bows made with little experience ,is more dangerous than no bow at all. So I think this is a method that should be taught as a staple in all survival scenarios involving being in the woods where theres a chance to get lost

This is exactly how we made ours as kids. We borrowed bamboo sticks from peoples gardens lol then used cereal boxes cut up for the flights and then used our shoe laces lol even as a kid of around 10 or 11 we could throw them as far as a football pitch.
