Felling BEAVER Damaged Trees Near AIRCRAFT Hangars!

Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM, WA) A.K.A. Fort Lewis and McChord Air Force Base. These trees were damaged by beavers. They had to go before the beavers cut them down.

Man, I HATE blackberry brambles.! I had a huge patch of those nasty things on our property near the pool that I took out early this year. Some of them were over 6' tall, very thick, and they were all tangled up in each other. It was CRAZY! I ended up crawling low and cutting each one right at the ground with a pole hedge trimmer that kept me away from them, then gathering them up into bundles and hauling them down into our woods. If was a long hard slog, but I got them all. I used those puncture-resistant arm protectors and heavy leather gloves to handle them, and still got poked by those HIDEOUS thorns several times. I keep those buggers mowed down now, because they are very difficult to eradicate without using a strong non-selective herbicide. I call them the Devil's Roses!

Could you not have removed the guard rail a.k.a. just unbolt the panels and felled the trees normally?

Nothing quite as fun as getting into some thorns in the Clogger Zero pants. The thick front lulls you into a false sense of security, then the thorns wrap around and catch you in the hamstrings where the fabric is so thin it may as well not exist.

Did you know that beavers will stop chewing for a few seconds to listen if the tree is going and where it will go so they don’t get crushed

Don’t worry about the guard rail, the government will pay for it. NO, Wait a minute, we are where the government gets it’s money, so be careful of the guard rail or we’ll have to pay for it. 😮
