Hi guys, a few years ago we had 21 aspen taken down and it beautiful white wood. So we decided to buck and split it. We were shocked how quick it dried. I just finished asking James if he would slab me some for kitchen shelves…..now today…you are doing the same thing, but yours will get done faster than mine..hahaha thanks guys. 🇨🇦🌷 PS, luv you guys

Apparently you don't know. Now that you put the first code on those doors when completely dry, go over lightly with some 00 grade steel wall, to smooth out any grain that is raised or bubbles in the paint you just put on. Then do us light second coat and you'll never have to do the doors again. Remember where and tear on the doors where people touch them all the time is what will cause you to have to do it again and if you do it again, you're gonna have to do a lot of sanding to get the dirty area cleaned off before you paint again. So I think a second coat is well advised if you don't have the steel wool 122 150 grit sandpaper hand sanded will do the same thing as your only smoothing was already there not trying to smooth wood, but just smooth, the clear finish. And you're right don't forget to do the top and the bottom edge so they don't absorb moisture from the air. Your place looks nice and comfortable inside. Yes I can see you'll be doing some having on and fixing up, but it looks very comfortable as it already is!
@andreamorrison8419 Жыл бұрын
Oh my goodness Vaughn your doing that the hard way😮. You should have just opened the door all the way and sealed it then the hinges I would have taken one hing off at a time and then put that new hinge on and then taken the next one off and replaced it. Would of been so much easier on you.😊

Love your videos! Would you mind explaining why you tape the plastic along every stud?
@badpapa8252 Жыл бұрын
good question.
@jimmyjohnstone5878 Жыл бұрын
The plastic is a vapour barrier. It needs tape over all the joins in the plastic wrap, plus over the places where staples have been used to secure the plastic wrap. That makes a vapour proof barrier which they can then place the boards over.
@wildwoodoffgridalaska Жыл бұрын
Yep, the vapor barrier gets holes in the plastic where it is staples on, so we tape it to seal it 👍
