Is Aputure's Fresnel WORTH buying?

While you can use the fresnels on any light, technically... Most fresnel brands are made with the measurements of "their specific" brand in mind. So your results may vary. The rings on the ifootage may be the result of using a Zhiyun light and not the fresnel itself. I would love to see these tested on their "actual brands" of lights, just to see the difference. Still, useful but it might be better or worse depending on the brand of light you use.

Is the iFootage a 2 lens setup? Because the Aputure does not fit lights with more extended chip because of that rear lens element. This is also making the Aputure work different on different lights whereas the Nanlite one that I use is pretty much the same on whatever light I put it on.

depends on what you need. But Zhiyun's lights are pretty nimble and powerful

Thank Fellow Filmmaker for comparing Aputure & Ifootage fresnels. The numbers on your spectrometer speak volume. It clearly shows the fresnels do not substantially increase the brightness. As of today, July 26th, 2024, out of 4 fresnel video I've watched, you're the only person who uses a spectrometer which provides a more accurate measure of light brightness. All the others use light meters.

How does the Smallrig Fresnel (RA-F150) compare?

Seems like the Smallrig Fresnel RA F150 has unique technology and would be better at the same price as the Aputure. Would be great as a 3rd contender for this comparison.

Perfect timing, was just about to buy the Aputure 2x. Seems like you get better light quality and a carrying case for the $20 extra. Well worth it.

How it does compare against an offbrand such as lippmann f20 9 inches? For what I could see they don't include barn doors do they? Is the diameter 7.9 inches like some reflectors?
