Good to see that you place your key as close a possible to the subject! If you’re looking for a mic that’ll sound better than a lav, but not have as many issues with indoor reflections etc, I’d highly recommend the Rode VideoMic NTG. I use it for most of my indoor shoots (and not my big NTG 4+).
@FellowFilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I ironically used a similar mic to the NTG video mic today for a video, and was actually surprised at how it sounded. :D Might be changing it all up! haha

I m new to your channel and have especially enjoyed your videos on lighting. I have found the information to be well thought out and well presented. They have been a good learning tool for me. In this particular video I appreciate the the time and effort you put into displaying the item’s name, it’s cost and where it can be purchased as you spoke about the specific product. I found that to be a very thoughtful addition which I haven’t seen any other content creator use. So, well done and thank you. I look forward to your next post.

Fantastic studios setup, Heather! I love those floor lamps. I need to do one of these for my studio. May I suggest that, with the Godox ML60, if you curve the gel to let the air escape from the sides, it will stop the gel from getting too hot and melting and prevent you light form overheating inside the dish. :) Great job as always!
@FellowFilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed the video! I don't have problems with the gel on the ML60 (or SL60w) the way I've been doing it. Doesn't melt at all, no problems. But thanks for the tip :D

Good tour. I see so many videos like this where the host shows some insanely expensive pieces of gear as if everyone ought to have them. I found most of your gear to be reasonable and practical for the average creator which was nice to see. I also appreciate the comfortable presentation. Can't stand hosts that feel they need to be up in my face wowing me when speaking to me. I have a bad habit of doing that myself.

Thanks for the walkthrough! I like the look you are able to get, and your gear is similar to what I have available. I do need to still get some of those sound blankets. The bad thing about that is that I also need to get a couple stands to hang them on that I can carry by myself to remote locations for interviews. The 'little things' I always want/need sure do add up in price and weight over time.

Wow that so cool seeing how you make your space look so big and epic in your videos. I also am working with a small space so this is really inspiring, thank you!! I currently have 2 Phottix nuada P LED panels and was filming with just an iPhone XS. However, I just made a big jump to the Canon R6 and a Deity V-mic D3 Pro. If I were to get one larger light, what light would you recommend?
@FellowFilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
Glad it was inspiring and helpful! :D As far as a light recommendation I do think COB lights are really helpful to have. The Light is more directional and just has a really professional and polished look to it, when used properly. I'd certainly recommend a good COB light, like the Godox UL150, VL150/VL200, or even the Aputure 120dmkii if you need the effects. But if what you have looks good, there is no need to upgrade of course. :D Comes down to what you need and what you have.
@liquid_x3 жыл бұрын
@@FellowFilmmaker Wonderful! Thank you so much. What are the differences between the UL150, SL150 and VL150? Besides the UL being 100% silent.
@FellowFilmmaker3 жыл бұрын
The main differences are price, accessories that come with the light, and size of the light. UL150 for instance doesn't come with a case or remote, while the VL150 does come with case and remote. It's all in what you want!

Tascam DR-10L is a budget alternative, but not syncable to camera, you'd have to do it in post. Some folks say the Rode wireless are great, I've never used them. And the blob was a Forza 200 with a lantern diffusor on it.
