I am consistently amazed by what Fellowship did with modern gospel standards, how this excellent choir, these outstanding soloists reinterpreted these marvelous pieces and in many instances made them even more glorious.

I remember rushing out of my church on Sunday morning to hurry up and eat, then drive to the city (Chicago) to Fellowship to get in line to get in the broadcast. This is probably the broadcast. That's when the choir really turned loose. If you weren't early, it would be packed out already. Awesome times. Felicia Evans Coleman and Lacrecia Campbell were the two lyric beasts hitting those notes and you could understand EACH AND EVERY WORD. I miss them but I was blessed to hear them in person when they were alive.

Thank you for sharing this gem! Felicia could sing the leaves off the trees! That's how powerful her voice is. By far, one of the greatest to ever lead Fellowship in song. And to think, she had been at Fellowship singing like that since the very early 70s, as a youngster (that I remember). My favorite performance of hers was "He Gave You Life", from Fellowship's '83 album. She had me more than sold, after I heard that song!! Anyhow, please continue uploading these classics. We appreciate you!

For those of you who are asking why they are stiff. This song is a well known song in the COGIC church. Mattie Moss Clark wrote and sung this song and it is a well known song. Back then, this being a baptist church, Ppl probably felt a certain kind of way having a COGIC song sung at their Baptist church. Unfortunately Baptist and COGIC folks didn't really agree with each other's beliefs/denomination.

Not true. Baptists are the main ones who don’t care about the denominational background of certain songs. Just because they’re stiff doesn’t mean the song’s message isn’t being delivered. People always stand, wave, clap, holler out, etc and still leave in the same condition they came
