Hi Philippa! I'm new to your channel and have been watching several of your videos while I'm working (from home so my boss doesn't know! lol), and I really enjoy them. I started felting years ago but then stopped and have just recently picked it up again. Your videos have really inspired me to get back into felting. Now that I have a full-time job and can afford it, I've bought all the cool little tools and materials. I really enjoy your product reviews and how honest and upfront you are about the financial side of felting. Most people don't want to talk about how much they make running an Etsy store or a KZbin channel, so I'm really grateful for that! Not to mention the tutorials and other informational videos you've posted. It's all very helpful! Thanks for taking us on your trips to all the amazing craft shows/fairs/sales! I love seeing how you set up your booth and everyone else's booths and products. I'm looking forward to your next video! Also, I adore that pink cow! So adorable!

Thank you, I'm glad you are starting it again, it's really so relaxing once you get into it. I definitely do talk about the money, I've taken my monthly figures onto my Patreon now but I still share some things here. It's great for people to see that maybe they could give it a go and know what to expect. Thanks so much for watching (whilst working!) And for your lovely comment 😊 xx

I enjoyed seeing the yarn you are using on that sheep. I have a hank of yarn from a friend who spun it herself with wool from her sheep. It will be special to have a sheep with it.I may make her one as well. Another good video. Thank you.

Great vlog Pippa, your sheep baubles are looking fab. I think the craft fair just came at a really strange time. The Queen and people readjusting to higher costs of living. Your next one will be a lot better I'm sure x

Yet another fab video Pippa - I love the pink highland cow (it reminds me of Toyah) and of course more fantastic makes too. Also loving those new shelf boxes. I have some of the turquoise boxes you use, as well as some yellow ones too and even though I label them it looks great to be able to see what's inside. Might need to put those on my next shopping list!

Yes, really helps seeing in and then I don't have to label them. That cow was definitely Toyah!! I've smoothed her out a bit now, couldn't handle the look, speak soon xx

Yes, I think it's worth it! The first 2 years of a new business are typically questionable, especially financially. You are on the right path...IMO. offering a varirty of items and prices, along with different venues is great! FYI I do well with my Woodland gnomes. Have you given thought to making items other than your beautiful critters?, i.e. gnomes? Starting in January, as things naturally slow down, I plan on designing and defining fun large eyed creatures, i.e. for grown ups. Something for the workers desk to bring a smile to their days. Just an idea. I love watching and listening to you. ♥️

Thank you, luckily I've done well for the first two years due to other lines of revenue (KZbin, Patreon and Etsy). Really the crafts fairs aren't necessary but I think it was a one off slow one and it's really good to get direct feedback from the public to see your best sellers. They are an effort but I will keep doing them and I only do three a year so shouldn't really complain. Just sometimes you get tired and fed up but we keep going! Thanks so much for watching and helping me feel better x

Lovely to hear about all you have been doing in the last month. I'm sure the craft show was just a one-off as it was a bit of a strange period just after the Queen died. If your kits are selling so well, perhaps you should think about nudging the price up a bit, especially as the materials etc cost quite a bit. It was great to meet you at Yarndale, can't wait for next year. I also loved the punky pink highland cow.

Thanks, I am considering it as I start to make up the next 10, I saw some simple ones in John Lewis at the weekend for £25, just five hearts on a string so that made me feel more confident about it. Definitely looking forward to Yarndale already, loved actually meeting you xx

A bit about displaying in shops. I noticed that my doggie friends lovvvvve wool. I guess they smell the wild life. The result is pure bliss for the dogs and panic for me. 🤣🤣🤣 Plus the children think the are toys and their moms don't seem to care. So, finally getting to my point. I tell this story to shops and have them agree that my wool items need to be high up, but still accessible to adults. So far, so good. I do stop by the shop on a regular bases to tidy them. Even adults can be heavy handed.🤔.
@feltsbyphilippa
@feltsbyphilippa 2 жыл бұрын
Yes absolutely but sometimes the shop owner decides to have a little move round so I will give her another few weeks and I visit every two weeks or so to repair as well. Potentially it's the lack of supervision I think as it's quite large but items have sold well so that's a plus, I have another shop asking to stock my items so I will check them out and run your story by them! Thanks x

Hi there! I’m curious what you were doing with the skein of wool with you lamb bauble. Do you have another video on that? I’m in northern Illinois, USA and we don’t have anything like the World of Wool here. I’m really envious.
