Female Driver Ejected From Vehicle During High Speed Chase

On 7/18/2024 at approximately 1523 hours, I, Trooper A. Cass, observed a black 4-door car (V1) traveling above the posted 60 mph speed limit. V1 crossed multiple lanes of traffic on I-630 W at Mile Marker 8 towards the I-430 N Exit. V1 then increased
speed rapidly and passed several cars. As I moved behind V1 and caught up to them I obtained a radar reading of 77 mph. I initiated a traffic stop as V1 took Exit 8B to I-430 N. We came to a stop on the East shoulder of I-430 N at Mile Marker 7. I approached the vehicle, introduced myself, and gave the reason for the stop. S1 advised she was in a hurry to take her child to
the doctor and did not have her driver's license, registration, or Insurance with her. When asked for her name and date of birth, S1 provided a name of Becca Smith and a date of birth of 02/24/2001. I returned to my unit to check this information and V1
accelerated away from the traffic stop. I notified dispatch that I was in pursuit of V1. V1 took Exit 8 (Rodney Parham) and went East on Rodney Parham. V1 then turned North on Breckenridge Rd. against the red light and continued to Pleasant Valley Rd., reaching speeds of 80 to 90 mph. V1 failed to stop at multiple stop signs along Pleasant Valley Rd. V1 came out on Cantrell Rd. and took the I-430 S ramp. Once on I-430 S, V1 accelerated to speeds above 100 mph. I was able to perform a successful TVI to end the pursuit. V1 struck a guardrail on the East side of I-430 S and rolled into the median. S1 was ejected from the vehicle into the median. Medical aid was immediately rendered and continued until M.E.M.S. arrived on-scene and transported S1 to U.A.M.S. S1 was later identified as Divionna Bullock. After numerous tests Bullock was admitted to the hospital and will have a warrant issued for her arrest upon release from the medical facility.

Trooper Cass is an absolute rockstar patrol unit driver. She kept on that suspect’s tail throughout, didn’t let up once and negotiated the toughest manoeuvres around bends and through a junction, then pitted at a high rate of speed with precision. There was a nurse from Houston, driving 110mph in midday traffic a few months ago. She crashed at an intersection in Los Angeles, hitting at least four cars in cross-traffic and killing six people before her’s and a victim’s car ended up causing a fire at the corner gas station. That's why they fly across multiple lanes, through intersections, sometimes hitting and killing innocent people.. unless they are stopped before they can do so. Also, note the big guard rail as well as the thick cables? Wonder what multiple uses those provide. They don't PIT just anywhere. Yes, obviously, not every PIT is perfect, but the stats speak for themselves. Priority of life: The innocent public, the LEO's and lastly, the ones commiting the felony - Fleeing, let alone their reason(s) for doing so. Then theres the States with very strict or limited no PIT policies and their "Eh, let's just follow and wait till they crash out or slam into some innocent family."

Should you run from cops? No. Should you use a PIT while traveling at 122mph on a moderately busy freeway in order to apprehend someone who was initially pulled over for a civil infraction? Also no. Just about every other state doesnt allow cops to use a PIT at high speeds unless its in pursuit of someone who committed a violent felony. The risk isnt worth the reward. Thankfully everyone survived here, but still not worth what will probably be over $100,000 in property damage to catch someone whos initial charge of improper lane change probably would've been dropped in court.

It’s almost as if “public SAFTEY” is non existent. If the officer deems the suspect is a “threat or danger to himself or others” maybe they should pit when traffic calms down a bit. Definitely irresponsible from the trooper

I can’t believe the number of comments praising the trooper. It was a speed ticket traffic stop. They had her license plate. Trooper chased her through residential streets. The chase endangered lives…many counties have police no chase rules or statutes just for this reason. You chase violent offenders to protect the public but not traffic offenders.

Plate number means nothing. Its usually a stolen plate or car leading them nowhere the criminal is going.

As an Aussie I've always admired the skill of US police chasing down Japanese and euro sports cars and bikes in good ol American land yachts. That Lexus stays planted in the corners and bumps while the cop car bounces like a trampoline 😂
