I'm a male drummer who's been playing (at 1st PRACTICING) since I was 10 or 11. I'm 58 now. Back in highschool after Marching band, I would go home and practice approx 3 to 5 hours EVERY day. I had NO time to date girls (until the second half of my last year in High School) It took me a while, but I'm pretty good. I don't play as much as I used to. BUT, I still play! :-) And.... I TOTALLY loved the way these female drummers play. I didn't know they were out there...NOT like what I just watched! And...any guys with a little bit of jealousy: It's all about Practice, practice, practice!!!!! AND...1 thing for sure...You either have it in you or you don't. These Gals have *it*. I'm quite impressed and enjoyed the heck out of this video. Keep on Rocking, Girls!!!!!!!! that was and IS *NICE*!

So true. As studio time is $$$. So if you can't keep simple time, then the band/manager/record co etc..all get mad at having to stay all day because the drummer (who can bash and solo like mad) can't keep good time for 3-4 minute song. As well as for me a lot of it is how a drummer creates a style of their own or makes original music. So much of youtube drumming is cover songs. I like to see what they do from scratch and not over play it.

a lot of these girls have poor form too from trying to hit hard. best example on form is watching Dennis Chambers. he is fluid, moving like water, not trying to hit hard (though he does due to his strength)

Either Kanade Sato or Senri Kawaguchi. Why? Because these two follow the meter, and not the tune (when there is one). They aren't "distracted" by the tune, and are rather putting on their own side show as show drummers. And that's essential for what they're doing - vying for endorsements, gigs to show off their skills, etc. Anyone capable of keeping a beat (which includes most guitarists) can be a "good" drummer when playing the drum part to 95% of the songs out there. Any decent stroker from a 60's garage band could do that bam-bam boring crap that the first girl is doing. She's not impressive at all here, although she's probably got a lot of people fooled. Even I could do that shit, which is saying something, because I don't even deserve to hold Senri's drumsticks. Even Senri herself is playing mindless drivel on the solo at 6:27 - again, doesn't prove anything out of the ordinary. You gotta check out more of her work to be properly impressed, like the workout she does on the Yamaha e-drum set ("14 year old girl destroys drums"). Drum solos are horrible - they should be banned. Meytal gets the clicks and has all the great camera angles and that grin, but as good as she is, she doesn't deserve the blue ribbon. But of course you'd love to have someone that good in your band - you'd be set to go. A lot of metal drummers really stroke their egos and think they're fantastic (and likewise have a lot of people fooled), because they can go thumpa-thumpa real fast on the bass drum. These people are pathetic wannabes when compared to the likes of Kanade or Senri. There are of course metal tunes that are extremely challenging, and I'm _not_ referring to those.

She has her own CD out "A LA MODE" at age 16, selling well Tours with only the best jazz acts around, can play pop and rock, like its baby food, as she is trained, skilled jazz major and performs complicated arrangements. Shes a million miles above any female drummer and ALL men drummers at her age... shes practically a Buddy Rich junior.... yes Shes NOT BAD.... HAHAHA
