Been there. Its exactly like this. I got 45 years for a mass brawl when i was attached by 50 machete wielding thugs, who i fought and won. I claimed it was self defence, which it was, but they pressed charges and i got sent down. I did a few years and although i maintained my innocence, no one listened, so i came up with an elaborate plan to escape from the prison. I did it by digging my way out. I made a tunnel from within my jail cell, hidden behind a Marylin Monroe poster. It took me a few years but in end I did it. I lived on the run for s few months, out on the forest, living off the land. But later on it was proven that i really was innocent. So now I'm really free. It was an experience but i recall it being exactly like lambo described here.
