I have been using FeMap with Nx Natran with the Solid coming from the Solid Edge Fabrication model Assembly and Stress Linearization within Femap. This is more of an ASME approach.

Stress Linearization is not required if your analysis is based on Shell or plate elements. We only do Solid if we are looking at stresses on thick nozzles. or stresses in the nozzle exceeds expectations and further analysis is required with the welded detailing.
