I should've watched this video I didn't realize the tensioner clicked when you tightened it lol. Went through blades probably way quicker than I should have.

Great video, good looking shop. Looks like that model has a cast base, I just got a straight ABS150 with a pressed steel base that is bowed up un the middle so they have shimmed the vice up at the back but not done anything with the swing arm. Nicely machined surfaces on the arm mounts but due to the bow the arm leans out at 90 so undercutts. I like the rest of it, I wonder if my top will fit on a cast base. Will ask femi. Spotted your JD2 pipe bander ? , mine came same time as the saw.

I agree, this type of video is great, when considering an expensive purchase like this. I am sure you would have appreciated one. How many teeth @ inch did the blade have, that came with the saw? Lastly, are you still impressed with the saw, or might you have chosen another model? How did the factory blade cut that thin wall stainless? Thanks for the video and thanks for reading, responding. Best regards. Jack

Is the saw still working good have you had any problems and does it still cut accurately ? Thanks
@summitDan3 жыл бұрын
to know if it's really straight, you do a cut and then you spin the round stock 180 degree and do a second cut. I wish you would have done that. but nice video

As far as I can see all the ABS model has over the standard model is the addition of a micro switch which kills the motor when the cut is complete. Maybe I'm mistaken but that's my take on it. 10 dollar micro switch and they charge 150 extra. No way brother......

And the lowering spring, the bracket and the lowering rate setting knob assembly? I am looking to turn a standard NG into a ABS and there are at least 15 parts needed. The arm actually lowers with a spring not just ots own weight. Also the base itself has some extra holes to accomodate the extra parts.

Love that: holy fuck that saw cuts straight. Said by someone that has used an abrasive saw in the past? lol Hey hows this thing holding up a few years later? looking at getting one for my small business. Thanks.
