This conversation between four leading feminist philosophers of mind focuses on the body-mind relationship and the fresh ways that this relationship is being described by feminists, philosophers of race, and decolonial theorists. The participants also consider the development of feminist philosophy of mind as a field and discuss exciting new directions in the area, such as recent work on imagination, empathy, panpsychism, and machine intelligence.

Janine Jones is an Associate Professor in the Philosophy Department at UNC Greenboro. Her philosophical interests lie at the intersection of issues pertaining to imagination, language, socio-ontological reality, and race and gender.

Amy Kind is Russell K. Pitzer Professor of Philosophy at Claremont McKenna College, where she also serves as Director of the Gould Center for Humanistic Studies. Her research interests lie broadly in the philosophy of mind, but much of her work centres on issues relating to imagination.

Naomi Scheman is a former Professor of Philosophy and Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies (GWSS) in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota. Her areas of specialization included: Politics of Epistemology, Feminist Theory, Trustworthiness and Community Engagement, Responsibility in Research, Queer/Sexuality and Transgender Studies.

Jennifer McWeeny is Professor of Philosophy at Emerson College and a past recipient of the Fulbright U.S. Scholar National Research Award (France). Her research and teaching interests are in phenomenology, philosophy of mind, feminist philosophy, metaphysics, and decolonial theory. She is Editor in Chief of Simone de Beauvoir Studies.
