Femorabilia Workshop for International Women's Day

In March we gathered for a Femorabilia workshop with Louise Waller to celebrate International Women's Day.
For the session we gathered a display of annuals from the Femorabilia archive. The oldest was from around 1958 and they were a joy to be able to look at and encouraged us all to take a trip down memory lane as we discussed which magazines/ comics and annuals we had as children.
Materials were gathered from a variety of donation points including Louise's workplace staffroom - which is a bit of an archive in itself. So we had fashion, art and interiors and women's health and fitness magazines from 2019 up to more recent times.
Louise had prepared for the session by cutting out some very appealing/ challenging and even obscure headlines as well as some images from fashion spreads and advertisements that she thought could provide a useful starting point.
Other materials were coloured and foiled paper to use as a background and a range of stickers, glue sticks and sharpie pens in different colours. Including metallic which looked great on the black paper!
