Realize a lump in the groin doesn't necessarily mean the it is dangerous. I had a hernia in this area and the doctor wanted to cut. I mentioned about it being intestines and I could with hand pressure, push it back in. He still wanted to cut and after me using the word intestines several more times he said that it is in fact fat that was making the bulge. I told him I will change my eating habits instead of surgery. I dropped 30# and 6" off my waist. No more bulge. Carnivore menu for your best health. Stop eating junk food and plants. @@_Pratyaksh I had an MRI scan but a good Doctor may not need it to determine if it is fat or intestines. Go carnivore and get to your fight weight before you do anything. Watch Dr Shawn Baker and Doctor Ken Berry.

A lump in the groin is not imminently dangerous if it is an early inguinal hernia with no symptoms. The type if hernia that is the subject of this video (Femoral Hernia) is high risk because of a high risk of strangulation. A good doctor cannot reliably differentiate between bowel and omentum (intra abdominal fat apron). It is highly advisable to lose weight for patients who are obese. This does not mean that the hernial defect will somehow disappear. Inguinal hernias, if without symptoms, in men (but NOT in women) may be safely observed. Diagnosis of hernia is supported by an ultrasound first, if there is doubt. CT or MRI are reserved for complicated hernias (large, irreducible, recurrent etc.). I am a practicing surgeon with emergency on-call commitment in a tertiary care trauma centre, I do not get paid more if I operate more, I have no conflict of interest with any pharmaceutical firm.
