Funny how you can believe you’re good and then you hear someone who actually gave themselves to their instrument. Then you see the difference 🤷🏾 it’s humbling.
@Six3rdy5 ай бұрын
First, agreed. Secondly, for what it's worth, you're probably still good. It's just that the skill ceiling for guitar is Stoopid high (and that's assuming it even exists). And every now and then you see someone who's well on their way to it. 🤣 It's like you're in the anime Bleach. You get to Captain power levels, and then you witness old man Yama, and then you see the other captains who existed long before you did. And you're like, "Bruh......what is this power scaling?!???"

Thank you, Mr. Sharkey, for the shout-out to Jonathan DuBose, one of the modern gospel guitar pioneer icons. Appreciate you calling out the Andrae Crouch (& the Disciples), James Cleveland Choirs, Clark Sisters, Hawkins Family, and Donald Lawrence Singers. This is probably an introduction for some viewers. Check out some classic gospel, y'all. You can also hear guitar players like the following in Mr. Sharkey's style: Jubu Smith, Josh Smith, Jerry Jerdine Sr., Hubert Sumlin, Frank Williams, Spanky Alford, and Howard Carroll. Love the AM Pro II Strat in the comet burst!

I bought fairly-used Fender recently for my home studio in the making, drawn by expertise and quality associated in crafting one instrument that remains evergreen for generations to come.

I just got one of these from my local Fender shop... I agree the neck is perfect. Fits right in the hand... The finish on the neck is super smooth and fast unlike some custom shops I've played where the nitro cellulose is kind of sticky. I read somewhere that American pro II guitars are very brite... It's true that they can be, but you have way more bandwidth on your tone adjustment with this guitar... You can get a huge variety of tones out of these... I saw the top on a Facebook post from my local shop, and that is really what got me interested in this guitar. Pictures don't really do it justice... The quality fit and finish is just flawless.

Every ad for every guitar these days says: “It does it all from jazz to blues to rock and metal. It can sound like a Strat, Tele, or Les Paul.” Also, “Vintage style with modern appointments.” They all say that now.

Not a guitar / amp combo for us working stiffs unfortunately. Everything costs so much and prices keep going up. My car insurance went up 40 percent despite a perfect record, homeowners went up 30 percent. Love you Fender but this economy is a GAS killer when you have mouths to feed. Cheers!

save up man. even if its just $100 a month. just like back when you were young and didnt have money. just put aside a bit of money and you can get whatever you want in a year. dont finance because if theres emergency you can use that savings instead.

@@jojojojojojojojojojojojob Thanks for the encouragement. Unfortunately, this economy makes it impossible to save for a luxury item such as a nice guitar and amp. No vacations, no nice things. We already live well below our means to set aside for our children’s education. We have decent jobs but our earnings are not keeping up with inflation so we are tightening our belts just to get by. Our employers are doing the same so we are not getting bonuses or raises. We are working harder than ever but we are losing ground. It’s so disheartening watching the government hand out free money to migrants and other countries while we work our fingers to the bone just to survive. Cheers!

Sharkey is definitely a monster player, there’s no denying that but there are some things you’re missing about John Mayer, he writes great songs, he surrounds himself with great players and most importantly he sings…a wider range of people relate to a human voice compared to the voice of an instrument
