The action of this guitar seems very low. Seldom see an acoustic guitar like this once it came out of the factory. So I want to ask has it be set up before the demo?

I’m so impressed with this guitar! I own a Godin Ultra A6 which is a great guitar but this sounds even better acoustically and fully electric mode. Great review and great job Fender!

So far I’m not convinced and think I’d rather stick with my A6 Ultra. Seems overpriced at $2k.

The A6 is a terrific instrument. Mine is the Koa edition and the neck and fit and finish are top notch. Where I find exception is the humbucker isn’t that great on its own, but is best for adding about 30% of it to warm up the piezo tones. For me the Fender acoustic tone sounds pretty authentic on its own and there are several options of body styles to choose from that aren’t available on the A6. Plus the Fender has the soft bevel on the front for comfort. The electric sound is more usable than the A6 in most musical settings too. I would like to see the price in the $1500 range though to make it more accessible to everyone.

Apparently, the string seems to be bronze acoustic string at least 011 gauge - because of the yellow-es color. How can the magnet pickup work with bronze or phosphor/bronze strings?

So, you have a big mahogany block of wood, and hollow most of it out to fit in the smaller shaped guitar body - what an incredible waste of material. 80% of the mahogany is routed out and thrown away ! I'm not a huge ecology/sustainability guy but that's completely insane.

Hey redstrat, I appreciate the qualifier per the non-tree hugging bit;) The guitar is a joy to play, feels really comfortable, and projects shockingly well for the size. I need to watch the making of video Fender did and see what that says, wasting money and resources as you described does not sound like the team of great people I'm getting to know. I'll also add that there are not a lot of female Les Paul players, and I for one love my SG. Less Mahogany can of course be cool. Thanks again for taking the time share your thoughts - appreciated;)

Ummm, that's how most semi hollow guitars are made... Actually, that's how pretty much all semi-hollow guitars are made. In fact, that's how almost anything made with wood is made, because it's far easier to remove material than in is to try to add material back. These aren't intended to be like traditional acoustics, so they aren't built with the usual steam/bend/glue/clamp technique that traditional acoustics are made with. And honestly, unless you are riding a bike or driving a Prius, one week of driving does more damage to the environment than building one of these guitars does. It's like comparing a drop to a bucket.

@@livingthattwelvelife2209 I guess you are right but man, it really does seem like an incredibly wasteful thing to be doing - so the same would go for all of the other semis too if that's how they are built.
