greysuit17 why do you think that ?
@greysuit175 жыл бұрын
MrGamer historically that’s not what Fender has done when it comes to their more experimental guitars. If it doesn’t sell well definitely not. People are already going ape over the two grand price tag. It’s to nice with components & material for them to make a cheaper model that one sounds good and two they can’t make a cheaper version and make it profitable with out cannibalizing the higher end model. It’s not happening.
@greysuit175 жыл бұрын
Guru Music Lover true. Forgot about that, I’m remembering the Stratacoustic they made in the 80’s. It was a pretty awful guitar and with what you said still makes me think they won’t produce these in their Squire line but who knows maybe they’ll sell like crazy.

Haha... Like your comment, but I'm checking it out because an injury left me with nerve damage in my fingers. I had to switch to electric guitars and light gauge strings. I can approximate the sound of an acoustic with my ES-339 through a GT-001, but it would be nice to play an acoustic again. Taylor T5 series is nice, but they are pricey. Not even sure this is worth $2,000.

I play in a Celtic folk band. Mostly strumming chords, but also a melody part here and there. This guitar would sound perfect through a PA system and would be much more comfortable to hold than a dreadnought for a guy like me who’s had back and shoulder injuries.

Yeah, I agree. I think he's using it wrong. I think the magnetic pickup was designed to sound like a Tele pickup through an electric guitar amp, when you're actually using a full range acoustic amplifier. He used the simulated EQ curve through an actual electric guitar amp.

It's like when you put an overdrive on a clean channel and you get that same clean channel, with a separate impotent sounding drive... Anderton's demoed it right, I think paired with a separate slightly broken up amp with an acoustic amp for those tones would be an absolute tone monster

My review of the actual guitar: First let me say, I had high hopes for this. I play in a country rock band with lots of guitar changes during our set. This disrupts the flow of the show quite a bit. While I would never use something like this in a studio setting, I saw this as a potential solution for me on stage. I ordered one. When it arrived, I unpacked it and played for about 30 minutes, and decided it wasn’t for me. Why? Well, first the good part: It really does sound great plugged in. There are several good, useable acoustic sounds, and the Tele pickup is also passable. What I didn’t like was the tone/blend knob layout. In a live situation, where I’m singing lead, and trying to switch between electric and acoustic sounds, there is no way, in some combinations, to switch back and forth with ease. It would require carefully switching the 5-way to the right position, and then making sure the blend knob was in the right setting. WAY too much to think about, when the whole point was to try and simplify. This sort of switching might be great in a studio setting, where you have a lot of time to tweak and find just the right sound, as in the video above. But I have great vintage “real” acoustic guitars that I would much prefer to record with... As I said, this was supposed to be for live playing. Also, I really didn’t like the feel of the guitar. I could not escape the feeling that I was playing a Baby Taylor. It doesn’t feel like an acoustic, and it doesn’t feel like an electric... so, does it feel like an old pair of jeans? Uh, no. Look, guitars are very personal beasts. To feel comfort on stage, you’ve got to have something in your hands that feels familiar. This couldn’t have felt more foreign to me. And, it did not have the feel of a high end guitar (read price tag). This felt like something that should be under 1k. I’m sorry to say that, and I’m not one of the “looks new/different and therefore can’t be good” haters who have lined up here to poopoo on Fender’s parade. I’m just writing this in the hope of dissuading people from ordering this online and having to return it; a gamble i wittingly entered into, and lost $114 in return shipping costs. If you think you may be interested in this, GO PLAY ONE IN A STORE. Don’t buy it online. Fender gets extra points for development and innovation. I just don’t think it quite landed. At least not for me. YMMV. Cheers.

Not knocking on the player, he is obviously very good and played appropriate music but so many demos seem to be done by guitarist who main electric guitar. Today is 1/30/19. I walked into a GC in RI today to ask to play the new Acoustasonic. They had NO clue what I was talking about. There was none to be found in the entire store nor had they seen any. I believe Fender now hedges its bets more than ever by controlling production to under-match the response they get on-line to new products. Much like the new Channel-Bound Strats which never seemed to be available in my area, these Acousasonics will soon be just another product that came and went. I hope I'm wrong, but let's talk this time next year.

New fenders are just not to the same quality! Ofc this is a random as hell design idea but I got a 2017 American professional jag when they came out for £1545 and there was so many design faults and had to send it back to fender because the whammy bar jammed, happened AGAIN when I got sent a replacement (it was damaged in the factory when being repaired). Just replaced it with a stay trem whammy bar which was fine, no problems at all. Sold it a few months later. A lot of design faults on it for a guitar that cost that much. The quality of the big companies guitars seem to be going to shit. 2nd hand 90’s American strays and tales are where it’s at!

I have to agree with you. Why the fuck would you spend two grand on an acoustic guitar that you can't play acoustically . For half the price you can get a really nice Martin or Taylor and if you really wanna go all out spend a little bit more money and get a top end acoustic . they should have just made this thing in Korea and priced it at 800 bucks. I got a feeling they're gonna get stuck with a bunch of these because I can't see anybody spending this much money on this guitar. You'd think that for two grand you would get a solid color rosewood fretboard. Oh and the other thing for two grand you only get a gig bag. 😨.
