Everything he says is true. I have the same exact guitar and it literally does everything, captures all the classic tones. The greasebucket circuit allows you to roll back the screaminess of the bridge to a sweet bite so nicely. The middle position is epic sounding. The neck is just silky and comfortable. Brilliant fretwork, utterly perfect action. It’s killer.

I just bought same guitar in honey. It doesn't really sound like any other telecaster I've played before. It sounds much warmer and fuller in a good way. Kind of like a mix between a Les Paul and a PRS core custom 24... not quite as bright as a custom 24 but clearer than a Gibson Les Paul... but still warm. Most telecasters I've played before sound much brighter. I have a 50s classic vibe telecaster and it has much more snap and brightness that I really dig too. You would never think they were both telecasters playing them side by side. The performer sounds and feels way more modern. I really love the performer and the CV for different reasons... completely different tones oddly. One just costs way more lol. Definitely no need to spend more for the professional unless you need a hard case or different sounding pickups. I'll take the sound of three saddle bridge and day over six. Some professional models have pine body like on my CV which is cool too ... so just depends on tone you want but none better or worse... just preference...

I was diggin the tones from this model while putting it thru its paces at GC. However, I have had a BIG issue on virtually all teles at GC with the horrendous fret finishing that can easily rip your fingers open. While this one wasn’t the worst I’ve come across it was still not great. The sales guys blame it on wood shrinkage which may be true but still unacceptable and not something I come across on such a global basis with other makes and models.

@@rusticron3426 I own a American Special Tele, the precursor to the Performer and it’s nothing like a vintage neck! It’s a modern C with 9.5 radius and jumbo frets! The late Highway Ones also had this neck profile. They share the same profiles as the Performers. 22 jumbo frets. As far from vintage as you can get. I love em, hot pickups and they’re really hot rodded versions of a Tele.
@az8999
@az8999 4 жыл бұрын
I just got one today. While it absolutely looks (from a distance) and sounds great the fit and finish in some spots is shoddy. The neck pocket on the body isn't evenly sanded on the edges and has pits with rough edges. The bridge plate bends on the raised edges and seems warped. Finally, the bridge plate doesn't cover one side of the pickup rout and the rout is visibly poking out from under it. I own several Teles and Strats and honestly haven't seen flaws such as these ever. I do really like the guitar despite this and it will get a lot of playing time live and at home as it sounds and feels really good. I just don't like shoddy workmanship and failed QC.
