I wanted the penny custom paint but it was only available in black or green(the same green as yours at the 2:00 mark of your video) from Guitar Center here in Texas. I got it with the HSS pick ups because I play mostly rock but I love playing the blues too, but who doesn't. Enjoyed your video. ...P.S... I'm going to England and Scotland next year to play some links golf, I love history and look forward to visiting as many historical sites as I can while I'm there. God Bless.

Hope your still enjoying this fine guitar, had mine for 2 years now, a real keeper. Very similar neck and feel to the Clapton strat, which this guitar plays very much like. Like the Clapton strat this has a longer scale length and vintage machine heads which are not the best pairing, really need to get a good lock and wrap round the post on the B and high E or the string will stay flat, wind for ages, and out it will pop! Other than that one of the finest guitars ive ever played, cant recomnend these enough. Worth splashing out on a hard case for too!

@AdoreYouInAshXI3 жыл бұрын
@@buckethat1770 I bought one, and the pickups sounds great. But the action out of the box wasn't that good. Serious fret buzz. Also, they use 9 gauge strings out of the box which are way too light. So if you have some issues out of the box, go get it set up and then you'll love it. It plays great after those issues were addressed.

I am seriously considering spending a few more pennies on the american professional so as to get the hard case included, namely as I am bricking it at the thought of parcel force lobbing it in and out of trucks. I have a question if I may? How do you find the neck, I am a bit more partial to rosewood myself?
@marmadukewinterbotham25994 жыл бұрын
Mine was from Andertons and packed well, but I know how you feel. If you do order a case at the same time, you might want to specify that you'd like the guitar to be put in the case - the default I believe with retailers is to ship case and guitar in one big box, it's just quicker when assembling the order. Neck: I'm a maple neck on Strats type; in fact all my Strats (7) have maple necks except for one which was a custom parts one put together by my guitar tech where I specified rosewood as the pickups were two humbuckers. It's a personal preference thing! Enjoy your new guitar!

I'm in a different room for newer videos (see Mad Cat one) as I've moved to Cornwall and have a nice big room to call my own. I have a number of US Strats and this Performer has turned out to be the one a go to every time. I'm not sure why, it just feels right and it converted me to preferring jumbo frets. The only change I've made is my usual one of fitting Kinman pickups (Blues set in this case). I'm seriously thinking of buying another Performer, but an HSS. I'm hanging fire because in a few months I reckon Fender will launch Performer II. No basis for thinking that, except I think it's around every four years they do facelifts to a range.

@@marmadukewinterbotham2599 I left Facebook a couple of years ago so I’m well out of that but I hope it’s all going well for you. Also, was the trem arm supposed to be at an angle or was something wrong with it?
@marmadukewinterbotham25995 жыл бұрын
No, it was fine. I hadn't noticed before (despite owning many Strats over the years) why Leo Fender cleverly designed the trem hole to be at a slant - so that you can leave the tremelo arm in place when putting the guitar back in its case. If you rotate it anti-clockwise a half-turn or so, the slanted hole makes it lie down properly so the case lid doesn't press down on it when closed!

When you have all three pick ups on, why does it not sound 3 times louder?
@marmadukewinterbotham25994 жыл бұрын
Um... You had me Googling for that one. It's something to do with most guitar pickups being wired in parallel. If they were in series there would be a cumulative effect on volume. But I'm not technically inclined so I can't vouch for that explanation!

I'm still enjoying mine and play it a lot, even though I'm not usually a 'big frets' man. If you have a guitar tech nearby then I recommend a thorough pro setup; you'll find it worth the money. Expect to pay in the region of £100 for a decent job. You can of course do it yourself but I never try is as I find that a lot of the variables affect one another, e.g. lowering the bridge can cause buzzing of string(s) if the fretting isn't exactly level, for which you need specialist tools, and so on.

Take the back plate off and wind the 2 screws in. It pulls the bridge closer to the body . Done this with my performer and now it's perfect . Action did not need lowering on mine and theirs hardly any fret buzz . One thing I might consider for myself is changing the nut at the hands of a luthier . No issues just a tusk nut might be better .
