And next year Fender will release a new model called the Fender Ultra Elite Players Professional Original Roadworn Jazz bass. Maybe with a 1 at the end. Can't wait lol. Cheers
@trenken Жыл бұрын
Didnt happen lol. They actually dont update them all that often. Just depends on sales really. Apparently the ultras and pro2’s are doing well so its been years since these basses got an update.
@mrbungle7586 Жыл бұрын
@@trenken obviously I was being a little sarcastic but they're due. 2016 the Elite was released and 2019 the Ultra. Whoops, I was wrong. There's the Fender jazz gold foil recently released.
@trenken Жыл бұрын
@@mrbungle7586 they are due to us, who are greedy to get more models. For them it could still be another cpl years or whatever. Its harder now bc of all the supply chain crap. Its not as easy as it was for them to create a whole new line of instruments.
@mrbungle7586 Жыл бұрын
@@trenken I was right, just saw there's the new gold foil edition., 🍺
@trenken Жыл бұрын
@@mrbungle7586 just pointing out that fender made the american standard for 8 years. So the pro2s and ultras really arent that old. They might change the colors up but we might be stuck with these models for years to come.

How are you liking it? Im considering one. I wanted to do a mod shop jazz but i can’t justify spending 2.2k on a bass i cant even get block inlays on. If i cant get them on a custom bass which is ridiculous, ill pay less for a pro 2 with dots.

The pro 2 I bought is still as goid as the day I bought it.. numerous string changes and a lemon oil clean on the fretboard, the dual truss rod is clearly a winner as minimal neck adjustments needed. But as for the colour... didn't think I'd change from my stock black/sunburst but sooo glad I did!! Best £1600 I've spent

Thank you for great video and review as usual. Sorry for my sarcasm, but I think “professional” means that the owner should be very good in setting up of bass and fixing of the other common issues attributed to poor QC… I have recently bought a brand new Fender pro ii jazz bass from a quite well-known distributor and was really negatively surprised that the bass had two dead spots, one on E string and the other on A. I was even more surprised when after my intention to replace the bass I was told that a dead spot is “a physical fact and no defect…”

It is worth the $1800. I bought one, and the varied amount of alnico in the V-Mod pickups yields a rich sound that exceeds the range of the Standard Precision bass. It merits the Professional label that is on it. It’s the Precision ll Professional. Spend the $1800. It is worth the higher price.

Agree it's just rehashing the same thing with slight tweaks. Nothing really innovating, mainly just promoting a great old bass for sales and promotion by calling them different names, keeping the brand out there in the spot light.
