Fender American Special Telecaster Review

I remember looking at that in a shop in 2018 and I should have bought it! I bought a mint used 2005 Highway One Tele in crimson red later that year. That also had rosewood. The Telecaster is the greatest guitar ever made. It has it all really.

I own this guitar. I always thought of the tele as Iconic country guitar, The neck is very comfy. and the pickup aren't twangy. My guitar is very rock and roll. I have the rosewood fretboard with the sunburst body. Great cleans and and with distortion. imo Fenders best new guitar!!!!! Great video........

tim collins Thanks so much bro! I totally agree. The warmth of the rosewood helps make the pickups very non-twangy. This can be a really powerhouse rock guitar without the extra kick of humbuckers. Is a sound that’s working great for me! Congrats on having a great guitar.

I think these pickups are very transparent. the actual tone comes thru. Ask Robben Ford if tele's are good for blues? This guitar rocks. Also I looked on the Fender website, I didn't see this model guitar listed? Hope they didn't discontinue these? I watch this vid everyday.

tim collins bro! That’s so kind. Thank you and God bless you my friend! Yeah man, it’s a beautiful-sounding guitar and looks great as well. Great points about the tone. I think the rosewood fingerboard really adds a solidity to the tone that might not always be there with maple. Excellent guitar. Unfortunately, the American Special Series has now been discontinued and replaced by the American Performer series. The green color was only released in 2018, so it’ll probably become a collector’s item down the road. A really nice guitar to have and play.

Not much difference man, let me tell you, I had both an American special tele and a Professional Deluxe tele (above a standard) The professional didn't stand a chance against the special. Tone wise, neck ,fit and finish, tuning stability. Etc etc.. Special wins all day.

The fender American special is one of the best telecasters Fender ever made. No bulshit. With tons of vibe. Just don't tell fender they have a habit of messing things up. LOL

Funny thing there's not much difference between this and the new original series. I'm an old dude and I'm not impressed that often. But I'm glad the price forced me to buy one of these. Thanks for responding. For me the pickups are perfect. So much you can do with the bridge pickup and a grease bucket tone control.
