@@SirJuancelottI also heard the same, but I got the second batch of vintage ii’s with the correct headstock size so as far as I know I received the correct trem arm with no problems at all.

Am a fan of the American vintage ii series. Got blonde 57 strat and am very happy with it. It sounds really balanced. Of course, being a modder, I couldn't deal with the 60 cycle hum. So I copper shielded it, put a shielded 50s pure vintage pickguard on, installed twisted wires, and replaced those ugly aged knobs and pickup covers. Other than that I am going to leave it alone. Am very happy with it. Already have a 72 thinline with CuNiFe humbuckers. The 66 Jazzmaster, 75 deluxe tele, and the mahogany 63 Tele. Are all very cool. Fender hit a home run going back to the original specs

That cherry Jazzmaster is pretty slick. I would probably rock it, but I've been most tempted by its Jaguar sib. Just once, fade it out before Lemmo kills the Looper. Hehehehehehe!

did they originally have a different case interior when they came out as mine has a different case lining. mine is more like a crushed velour material similar to a custom shop case. smaller headstock factory error version.

They originally shipped with proper USA G&G cases. At some point they switched to Fender own brand cases which are inferior. You definitely lucked in.

The only thing about the American Vintage 2’s that could do & should do is.. cloth wire. Which would literally make it as close as any of the actual vintage guitars as they could. And they would fly off the shelves. But that’s my two cents. Aside from that these are the closest thing to actual vintage you can get with playability, nitro finish and so on.
