I own a limited edition of this amp ( with greenback ). I use it in a 2 amps set-up with a blues jr being driven wet and the bassbreaker dry. Very happy as each amp complement each other so well, the jr being very scoopy and the bassbreaker very "mid". Customers have to be aware that the bassbreaker gets all that gain through an analog circuit ( TS type ) driving the pre-amp ( only 2 tubes ). So you can do with this amp without a proper OD pedal. Only downsides are a very noisy effect loop, pathetic line out cab sim and no footswitch. I run a noise gate in the effect loop and it is then very useable. Very versatile little studio or practice amp :)
@officialWWM7 жыл бұрын
Jean Luc Bergeron the noise in the fx loop is a fault and Fender have a fix for it.
@jeanlucbergeron31067 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, I ended up not using the effect loop as all my pedals ended up in front of the amp, and I am running both amps cleanish so no noise problem anymore !
@mattgilbert73476 жыл бұрын
Jean Luc Bergeron Same set up as me!! My BJ is a Tweed mk 3 w/Jensen. Bassbreaker has less headroom. Junior takes the wet FX. I just wish the FX loop was usable. Soo noisy.

2 amp set up. ? A /B blend ??? Can you explain please ..
@jeanlucbergeron31062 жыл бұрын
@@robertcollucci750 I prefer two 15 Watts amps with a 8 foot spread to a single 30W amp. Sounds bigger at lower volume, natural stéréo effect to my ears. Also, I prefer my modulation effects to go to one amp only, witch is called a wet / dry set-up. I don't use effect loops ( none on Blues Jr anyway). Guitar goes to wah/compression/ drive pedals then goes to a A/B switcher. A side goes to amp A. B side goes to chorus / phaser / echo then to the B amp. So everything goes in front of both amps. Simple and practical for home, studio or small stage. Huge and lush tone with light small amps :)

This amp seems like its just awesome. However, the reason I haven't ran out and bought one is because the gain stages are not foot-switchable. This is a HUGE flaw for sure. I love that it has the Fender cleans and that awesome bass heavy Marshall tones AND a FX Loop but NO FOOT-SWITCHABLE channels is the ONLY reason I haven't bought one and it still may be the only reason I won't. Nearly hit one out of the park with this amp.

Stefan992 The head and the combo are exactly the same amp, but with the head version you can combine it with any cabinet you like, and that can make a huge difference. I play the head into a 2x12" Vintage 30. Best tone I've ever had.

@8sigreg5 жыл бұрын
Tube amps need their master wide open to sound the way the power-section tubes are supposed to sound. Turn down the preamp volume or reduce your boost or distortion if the backend distortion is not what you want. The trick is to ride that razor’s edge and then fall into pre-amp and power-amp distortion when you want the full-amp sound. Using tube amps as clean pedal platforms ignores the sound of the tubes.

Yes and no, if we are talking about guitar with singl coil`s, Bassbreaker is what you need. Versatile and good, Only damn heavy. But if you have guitar(s)with humbucker.... and you are more like " rythm" player then is it not a good amp. Not at all. Maybe for lead sounding and humbucker combination, if, dont know. I sold mu BB after year of searching sound what I like, with humbucker no luck. All theree stages, I try`d them all, all possible setting. Sound is with humbuckers dark, hollow, can`t cut trough mix.. etc. Nothing good. If you play alone, yes you can here amp, but with band-no. If mid`s are cranced up then sound is so so, but in " normal mode" no matter if bright switch is on or off, sound is "off". Try`d to swap differnet tubes, no luck. Not recommended for humbucer, single coils are different story. Pluss side- it is loud amp, and "good" sound will come it volume is 12o`clock and more. Below that, meh.. Sry Fender, I am not probably interested to buy any Fender amp any more.

What are you talking about? I’ve played this amp with my les Paul and it sounds amazing. Just gotta dial it to a sweet spot, it has a gain switch on the back you know. If you play metal then get a black spider or Marshall.
@TheDiamondsions5 жыл бұрын
There’s a switch on the back that’s very easy to overlook for a long time, you can switch gain between 3 levels. If you found this and still didn’t like it cool, it’s still a great amp just not with your preferred sound.
