Having owned 108 amps in the past 10 years, I can honestly say the Fender Bassbreaker ranks easily in my top 5. It can hang with the best of them....getting great tones from this amp is effortless and I've been waiting for a 30W to come out, I'm tickled pink! Def getting one.

Probably the best review I've ever seen done. Thanks for playing a lot of different sounds and settings both clean and dirty. Tones with delay on and delay off. Not too much talking but just enough to explain what you're doing and what the amp does. Probably the best demo I'm a product I have seen. Well done :-)

I find it interesting that I own a Vintage (brand) V100 LP copy that I can play an entire show with and "might" need to tune ever so slightly once, and this demo features a beautiful high dollar Gibson LP that must be re-tuned no less than three times... The amp sounds phenomenal!

I've owned this amp for about 4mos. GREAT Amp! I play Classic Rock and Blues with it in two Bands. Can't think of any other Fender Amp that will sound this good using Single Coils, Filter-Tron or Humbuckers. My ONLY Gripe is that when switching to HIGH GAIN there is about a 15 - 20 db jump in Volume! Can't really use it as a BOOST because it's not!! Fender designed this Amp to be used for "As They Said", Clean to Metal! Love the Amp though, and it came with everything an Amp should! Includes Amp Cover and Footswitch!! (It better for the Price they're charging for it)! $900 + TX. Free Shipping from Sweetwater!

Rick Hill you said you use the amp in two bands. So the 30 Watts is enough to play with a loud drummer plus still have clean head room?
@rickhill6277
@rickhill6277 5 жыл бұрын
Yes. It’s loud enough in my opinion! The Classic Rock Band I work with is the loudest of both and it holds its own nicely!! Like I said though the High Gain can’t be used as a Boost unless you wanna be VERY LOUD! Fender told me “It was NOT a Boost but like a separate channel of High Gain for Modern to Metal sounds”.

I Just tried both Fillmore 50 & 25. I played thru them both for quite a while. Believe it or not the tone is 99% Identical. The big difference is the 25 does not have a lot of clean headroom as you turn the volume up. Very Very Loud amps. I really couldn't turn the master volume up much at all. The Fillmore 50 is a beast but the ability to turn it down to 25 watts helps.

This amp always seems to sound nice close-mic'd in demos, but how is it live, in a band mix? I'm hoping that the midrange-focused nature of it cuts through without having to keep cranking it like with the more scooped Hot Rod series.
@nekkon1989
@nekkon1989 2 жыл бұрын
I own this amp. It can keep up nicely in a band context, I mean depending on where you play, but it is loud enough for almost any stage, and there is a lot of headroom. Plus, the eq is really sensitive, so you can adjust the mids to taste

I saw one comment about headphones via a recording interface, but just wanted to to confirm, using the XLR line out with speaker emulation silences the cab, so that only the XLR out has the audio signal (I.e., silent practice through your choice of audio interface?)

@@denieledwards6893 1) Noisy, unusable effects loop 2) Dodgy reverb, high pitched whine when turned up 3) Highest gain setting so damn noisy it's unusable Having said all that, once I spent $180AUD on the thing, it's fine. The reverb is still a bit dodgy but I don't use it - I use a pedal instead. Retubing and re-shielding (mostly the loop for the latter) did the trick.

Depends on what you want. If you’re looking for an amp that has the best clean channel and takes pedals well, Fender Bassbreaker 30r All the way!!!! The amp can do clean to classic rock well! If you’re not as concerned about the clean channel and want to mainly do hard rock and metal, I’d go with the Marshall DSL40cr. Personally, I’d go with the Fender, because I play more blues, pop, and classic rock. But, you really can’t go wrong with either of these!
