I had one of these exact amp heads and cabinet a few decades back, used as a bass rig, an amp tech tested it and it was putting out 120 watts, I ran into both inputs, huge sound with a Gibson RD artist and a G&L L1000 bass, handled medium size bars(400 people or so) with drums, keys and 2 guitars.

my daughter's account has taken over my laptop, anyway I had one of these in the 80's through 90, ran my bass through both channels and gigged with it for a number of years, had a huge sound, it's output was running hotter than the claimed 100 watts, see the heads alone around here and there, used a Gibson RD artist bass(active) with it, look up that bass, an interesting combo

Great demo! I own a vintage '70's bassman 100, is hooked up to a Marshall 4×10 cab, with celestion speakers. All original, no mods. Gets SUPER LOUD!!! If I want high gain, distortion sounds, that's what my pedalboard is for! Keep rocki'n!!!😎👍👌🤘🤘🤘✌

It’s too dark because of the speaker cabinet. The speakers are bass speakers. If you put it through a guitar cabinet you will like it a lot better. Take a power tube off of each side (1&3, 1&4, 2&3, 2&4) and it will have an output impedance of eight ohms instead of four.

These are good value. You can pick them up for about 6 bills. Hand wired in USA, you can't go wrong unless you play bass in a loud rock band (like I did when I had one). I had the same angled 412 cab too. But I still like my 77 modified V4 for bass anyway. More headroom & low end. But PLENTY of power for guitar.
@HiHello-ku1fl4 жыл бұрын
Wouldn't the Fender be a lot more reliable though? I like the V4 but a lot of them have issues because of all the printed circuit boards ageing. The Fender is rock solid pretty much with its handwired turret board construction.
@bflo10004 жыл бұрын
@@HiHello-ku1fl Yeah, hand wired amps are made to last. I never any trouble with mine.

Mine is kind of off now and I don’t really know why!!!
@bflo10004 жыл бұрын
@@BuddaGuedes Well, they are hand-wired so it shouldn't be too hard or exp to diagnose, unless it's a bad transformer. It's a vintage amp that's probably worse fixing. BTW, DONT even try to work on it yourself unless you have done it before. Tube amps can KILL you, even if off or unplugged!

Hi Budda! Do you own this amp still?? If you do, would you mind playing the intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit through it with a single coil guitar? Maybe fool around with the settings and see if you can nail that sound?? I’d be infinitely grateful haha P.S. could also be a Humbucker but according to his guitar tech, his Mustang had a stock coil in it at the time. But they also rented some Strats and used his Jaguar with a Super Distortion in it.

I have the same interrogation, same head and wondering wich cab should I choose. The Neo 410 is matching perfectly but I haven't heard them together. Also Bassman 100 is 4 ohm, the Bassman Neo 410 is 8 ohm. So I will not have alle the power ? Wich is not a problem, but does it afect sound a lot ? In wich way ?

Not a fan of humbuckers... upper harmonics are trashed... no bell in the sound.... great for Jazz or metal... everywhere else single coil rules. The Fender amps are best with single coils. There should be a separate tone stack for buckers...
